Lake Bunyonyi Rock Resort

Wow, this place is in a Gorgeous location and has beautiful, amazing views! Great service! Beautiful, clean accommodations! Right on the beautiful Lake Bunyoni. An abundance of birds and otters. There are also activities you can book here which is really convenient.

The tourism industry in Uganda is starting to really grow, and Lake Bunyonyi has tourists realizing that there is so much more to Uganda than gorillas! The lake is breathtakingly beautiful, and the views here shift throughout the day. The staff is attentive, the food is delicious, the environment is peaceful, and there is even wifi and cell coverage! This is a safe, comfortable, friendly, affordable getaway.

The lodge has fantastic views and the personnel of the hotel are so friendly and helpful that make you feel very welcomed . The dinner was great as well. The cabanas are very comfortable. Considering the location of the hotel you get much more than you expect definately you get more than what you expected .

We had a great experience at this resort, and there were several standout aspects. First, the staff went above and beyond to help us organize our entire trip through Uganda. Robert, the owner, personally drove us to various destinations or arranged transportation for us, covering multiple days and over 1,000 km. This level of service was truly exceptional. The resort itself is peaceful and beautifully located, with stunning views of the lake—definitely its main selling point. The quiet atmosphere, abundant birdlife, and serene surroundings make it perfect for unwinding. The food was excellent, and the staff, including Bruce, Ken, Mohammed, Ruthie, and others, were incredibly kind, accommodating, and friendly. The rooms were clean, and the amenities were good overall. That said, there are a few things to be aware of. The internet doesn’t work well in the rooms but is reliable in the reception and common areas. Electricity occasionally goes out, but the resort has a generator that kicks in after some time—this is more of a general issue in Uganda than a fault of the hotel. The last 1-2 km of the road to the resort is rough, so a 4WD is needed after rain - I would not recommend arriving at night. Alternatively, and in our case, the hotel can organize a boat transfer, which was easy and convenient for us. Overall, it's a great place to relax and unwind—a charming retreat that offers a balance of attentive service and natural beauty.

Well this hotel was by far the best we stayed in when we visited Uganda. The staff where all amazing special should our to Silas and Ken. They made the stay so special and anything we needed they got for us. Rooms were spotless free from bugs, hot water for showers and amazing view from the rooms. The food was the best we had while in Uganda and absolutely stunning views if I could give this place 10 stars I would

This has been a wonderful 3 night retreat. The resort is accessed normally by a 20 minute boat ride. The rooms are very comfortable with plenty of hot water. The staff is fairly small but extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Kenneth, the customer service rep, has been extremely helpful in organizing daily activities. Gideon has taken us all around the lake to see the incredible views and activities. Chef Mohammad has provided 3 meals daily and they have all been amazing. I would highly recommend a stop at Rock Resort.
