Wilderness Hotel Nellim & Igloos

Exceeded our expectations in every way. Pickup from the airport was seamless, hotel beautiful and rooms were very clean and quiet. Excursions were great, guides were knowledgeable and fun. Food was good with a big variety. Can't recommend it enough.

My husband and I stayed for 4 nights. We stayed first 4 in a wilderness room. Which was very basic but clean and warm. Literally a 1min walk into hotel. Our only wish would have been for a kettle in room too. Last night was in Aurora Cabin which was beautiful. Clean and warm. All staff so friendly and lovely and couldn't do enough. Wilderness was completely breathtaking. Our favourite activity was the huskies, they were so adorable. Food was delicious, alot of activities available to do. Dining and lounge area was so comfortable and relaxing. We will definately return but may take a while to save up again as would love to stay in aurora cabin for whole stay or a log cabin. Weather was very mild last day or two which made it so slippery round resort but there was lots of grit on roads and paths. Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful experience at the Wilderness Hotel Nellim. The natural surroundings are serene and beautiful. Our cabin, Kirakka, with a sauna, was very comfortable. The full board meals had good variety and were tasty. The outdoor activities and equipment were well organized. We appreciated the good service and friendliness of the people in the hotel and managing our activities, particularly Rita, Joao, Juan, Kinga, Louis, and Karol. And we were able to see the spectacular Aurora Borealis over the lake during the clear, frigid Arctic nights. We would recommend a visit to the Wilderness Hotel Nellim.

We stayed at the Lake villa with 6 adults and 2 children. Transfer from the airport and all activities were extremely well organised. Full board buffet was amazing and high standard, all food was delicious and staff was very helpful and kind. Especially with children, the buffet offerings are always a success. The bar offers many delicious cocktails. Buffet included salad bar, pasta, meat and/or fish and of course a selection of desserts. The villa was a small walk from the resort but a very easy path. Nice villa with 4 bedrooms, 2 toilets and 1 shower. Although it mentions a bathroom, there is no real seperate room. One toilet can also be used to brush your teeth but that is all. The shower is near to the sauna. No big issue but could perhaps easily be installed. We were very lucky to see the aurora on several occasions. Would definitely recommend this resort, which we visited for the 2nd time.

Beautiful log buildings in gorgeous settings. Our room was in a block (not a lodge) very warm, basic and clean, but with no coffee or tea making facilities. Bar/Restaurant area was very warm and comfortable. Meal selections were excellent and staff very friendly and helpful. Chosen activities were enjoyable, however due to the excessive low temperatures (too long for small children) would suggest the offer of a shorter option. The highlights for us were the aurora camp by car led by a very knowledgeable guy called Toni and the Reindeer Farm led by Anna. The Northern lights were the icing on the cake. Would recommend but would stay in a lodge with a fire and sauna next time. Transfers to and from airport were efficient.

What an amazing place, we have just returned from a 3 night break and it exceeded our expectations Accommodation We had a log cabin which had an upstairs for additional sleeping, a sauna and tea/coffee making facilities. The lodge was warm and cosy and just perfect. There are no TVs in the lodges but we just played music from our phones. Facilities The main reception was also the dining room and main area. This did get quite busy at meal times but there was 2 meal sitting depending on your accommodation number. Between meals there was plenty of space to relax. There was a small onsite shop that had some souvenirs and snacks. We were full board our son is very fussy, I am vegetarian and my husband is gluten and dairy intolerant and we all managed to eat 3 meals a day. There is a limited selection but everything is fresh, very tasty and well presented. The location of the hotel is amazing across a small road from the Inari lake with breathtaking views. Every single staff member was polite and very friendly. Activities We did several during our stay and were really impressed with how well organised these were. Most activities included a warm drink - the berry juice is so good and cookies. One activity included lunch by the fire. On every activity they ensured they had a cookie or lunch that my husband could eat. The little touches made all the difference. We had the most magical Christmas holiday and would not hesitate to return or recommend this hotel to anyone. If you are looking for a commercial location with churned out food then this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a true Finnish experience with amazing hospitality and freshly prepared meals then you will have found the perfect place.
