Hostal Casa Mercedes

Stayed here for 5 days and had such a lovely time. The rooms are compact but our room had a big terrace with sun beds so the room is just for sleeping. Room has a fridge and coffee maker, with a kettle available in a communal area in the hotel if you want tea. The bathrooms are good with a strong shower. Hotel provides beach towels and pool towels for the amazing pool area with the best beds to relax on. Good choice of shade and sun options. The breakfasts are amazing and free. I can’t say much more than it’s great value for money, clean and friendly. 15 min walk to the centre but bars and supermarkets very close. Great free WIFI. As others have said, Nerja is hilly especially if you want the beach. . If you don’t want hills it’s not the resort for you !

Loved everything about this little b&b perfect. Close enough to town but quiet and peaceful. We chose a room with terrace & sunbeds which was just the best idea. The owners are lovely. The breakfast is great and so is the breakfast room/ view. We didn’t use the pool area much because of the terrace but when we did it’s great. Everything is clean & well maintained

Just returned from a very enjoyable five night stay here. Room was spotlessly clean with a large comfortable bed, a nice balcony with great views down to the sea. Breakfasts delicious with plenty choice. The location was perfect, nice and peaceful and a ten minute stroll into town. Would love to return .

Casa Mercedes is very clean, in a great location, has friendly staff, brilliant views from the rooms and topped off with an amazing breakfast. Not to mention great value! Stayed two years in a row which says it all. Pool area is could with great views of the sea.

Lovely bright room with great sea views, good size private terrace and large shower room. The room was immaculate and has a minibar which was a nice touch. The breakfast was mentioned in other reviews and was actually one of the reasons we booked it and it did not disappoint! There is a small pool and a sun terrace as well but the hotel is only 10 minutes from the beach which we preferred. It's an uphill walk coming back but we didn't find it a struggle and gives you a chance to see other parts of Nerja. Walking to the Balcon takes around 15 minutes and I suppose you could get a taxi but it really is a nice walk. We had a car and parking was easy on the road within a few minutes of the hotel. Overall we felt the owners cared about ensuring their guests enjoyed their stay and we will certainly return in the future.

We just finished our stay here at the Hostal Casa Mercedes and wish we could stay longer. Nerja is a breathtakingly beautiful town and the Hostal Casa Mercedes was a fantastic little gem that provided us with one of the best rooms we have enjoyed during our visit to Europe. Mercedes (yes she is the owner manager 😊) never stops in her efforts to welcome her guests and ensure their stay is an enjoyable. Perched on a small hill (the rooms and pool deck have incredible views of the town and the Mediterranean) is tucked away on one of the many side streets in Nerja but our smart phone maps took us right to the door. Mercedes welcomed us and checked us in ( note that check in is unavailable from 2:00pm - 5:00pm so arrive before or after) and made sure we were comfortable and set up at the pool while our room was being finished as we arrived a little early. We booked room 11 a suite and it was a fantastic room. The hotel is impeccably clean and the bright and spacious room with one of the best hotel bathrooms (especially the double shower) that I’ve ever experienced had a large patio from which you were wowed by a vista of some of Nerja and a view of the ocean. The hotel is about 1km from the main balcony of Europe in the historical center of Nerja so we had about a 10min walk but it was a pleasant one. Free parking is available in the spaces outside but they are not guaranteed so try to arrive early and getting one close shouldn’t be a problem. Breakfast in the morning is served in a bright and sunny room where there is the choice of self serve and a la carte options, and the coffee is outstanding (of course it’s Spain 😊) This was one of the most affordable places we stayed during our trip and we would definitely stay here again on our next trip. Our only regret is that our stay here was so brief. We highly recommend this hotel. John & Shannon Nova Scotia, Canada
