Lochside House Hotel & Spa

Was at Lochside for 2 nights, 23rd & 24th, staying in Cedarwood Lodge, to celebrate a 60th Birthday.. the Lodge was stunning, the views fab (once the wind and rain subsided ).. the hotel was lovely, best service I have had anywhere in Scotland. Couldn't do enough, extra ice, towels etc.. Went for birthday meal in the restaurant, food was great.. service excellent. Overall, great place, great views, great service

What a beautiful hotel! Very professional staff and they couldn’t do enough for you. The owners daughter Jena did a fantastic job of styling my hair and then even gave me a lift back to the hotel in time for the wedding! A lovely lady!! The room was beautiful and the food was exceptional!! I highly recommend this hotel!! I am definitely returning!!

For a friends 50th 4 of us stayed for 2 nights. Two rooms for two friends sharing. Wow what a lovely friendly hotel. Food was absolutely beautiful. It was lovely and sunny at the weekend which helped but the views and scenery were gorgeous. But best of all was the spa! We had the hide and seek package! What a great offer and we will definitely be back. Hopefully catch a good deal in the future. I would recommend.

I didn’t write this view at the time but it still annoys me every time I think about or go to Lochside so thought it would be worth posting as a heads up to other families that might find themselves in the same boat. Lochside is great staff are generally great food is great and it’s a real star for East Ayrshire. The word of warning would be we hired the Glen Coal Suite for my sons Christening Lunch and Party, lunch was great but the music was only allowed to be background music only as it’s directly above the spa, this wasn’t explained at the time of booking as at one stage I was looking at getting a dj and even went to test the venues music would be loud enough with a playlist on my iPad through their sound system so it was disappointing to find that out for the first time on the day, the staff were generally good about it however one in particular was awful full of her own self importance and was clearly sent out to stop me complaining about it she was aggressive cheeky and certainly shouldn’t be involved at the front of house in the service industry coming out with chat like you booked the wrong room despite chat pre event around djs and even testing the sound volume with their staff midweek, she put a damper on it for me luckily I kept the discussions between me and her so it didn’t really impact any of the other guests as unlike her I’m blessed with tact I think some of her colleagues seemed embarrassed by her behaviour, All this aside Lochside is still a great venue for any event I just wouldn’t book the Glen Coal suite for a party with music and dancing

We came here for a relaxing night away and it didn’t disappoint. We had a massage whilst here and the girls in the spa were lovely from the receptionist to the therapists. In fact all staff were lovely across the board. The food was fantastic and the newly decorated rooms were stunning. I do feel it’s necessary to point out that there were marks/stains on the bedding which is somewhat disappointing. All in all it was a great stay.

I recently visited the hotel for my nephew’s wedding. I have to say the place was very good. Excellent setting I would imagine on a sunny day it must be a photographer’s dream. The hotel itself is bright , clean and very fresh looking unlike other places that can look a bit dated. The staff are great from reception to the bars and restaurants as were the function staff. Reports of the bedrooms were very good although I wasn’t in any of them. Now to the only downside the lodges. Although the lodge I was staying in was very nice and spacious I believe a review of housekeepers is necessary. My room obviously hadn’t been cleaned properly. The sink had smears and smudges, there was no new soap ( I don’t fancy using soap that the previous occupants had used ), shampoo tubes used and left with caps off and half drunk bottles of water left on bed stands ( I don’t fancy drinking water from a bottle that someone else has been drinking from). This place is great perfect for weddings and if they can improve their housekeeping then it will be outstanding!!
