Auld Sweet Olive Bed and Breakfast

The welcoming house, landscaping complete with a beautiful pool and hot tub, and everyone who works here is beyond kind and generous. We stayed around the corner for 18 years until it sold. We've tried several other places and now, with this stay, a new place with new memories has begun to unfold. Communication was precise and clear regarding checkin. Kate, Darin and Jeff, thank you for everything. To be continued on our next trip. 1001 thank yous.

We loved Auld Sweet Olive! The house was beautiful and comfortable and our room was great. It's located in the Faubourg Marigny District which is just next to the French District but quieter and safer. We could walk to the French District or take the little street car that was three blocks away and ran across the top of the French District and could be used to go to the Garden District. There were great restaurants just a block or two away. The St. Roch Market is a real gem - 12 vendors and a little bar in an old farmers' market. Everything we had there was fantastic and it was very handy if we were out and missed dinner or needed to grab a quick bit of lunch. Who Dat Coffee is a block away in the other direction and you have to have breakfast there at least once, even though breakfast at Sweet Olive is very good. Kate, the inn keeper, is highly competent, a great cook, and tons of fun. We felt like we had a new friend by the time we left. We stayed in the Palmento Room. It was very cutely decorated and comfortable with a convenient door to the very pleasant outside pool area. The only down side for us was that the adorable antique bathtub was a bit scary for older people in their 70s like we are. However, each room is different and many have showers that would be better for old people, so it's an easy to solve problem if you know in advance what you need and can specify that. We loved the Auld Sweet Olive and Kate and highly recommend it.

This is a charming B&B in a great neighborhood in NOLA. Kate, Lara and Steve are just great. They were so friendly and it was clear they wanted us to feel at home and enjoy ourselves. We are a group of friends since junior high school, all 5 of us, and we had a ball! Thank you K, L & Steve. We love NO and we adore you all.

I stayed in the Balcony suite with my dad on his first trip to New Orleans. Auld Sweet Olive is a GREAT place to stay! Clean. Perfect location close to everything. The breakfast every morning was delicious. The rooms are comfortable rooms. The pool is beautiful. No complaints.

During our visit to New Orleans for my daughter's wedding, my family and I had the pleasure of staying at Auld Sweet Olive, and it was an amazing experience. Kate provided us with thorough instructions before our arrival, ensuring a seamless check-in process. I spent a few days there ahead of the rest of my family and felt very safe with the gated entry. I initially stayed in the Magnolia Room and later moved to the Laura Suite, both of which were beautifully adorned with a perfect blend of aesthetics and functionality. The team at Auld Sweet Olive exuded warmth and hospitality, making us feel incredibly welcome throughout our stay. On my first morning, I was interested in the artwork and furniture in the home, and Steve was kind enough to share background information and point out some unique pieces I had missed the night before. Breakfast included a variety of options that were always served fresh. Every day, Kate or Steve greeted us at the table and checked in to see if we needed anything. I've stayed in multiple hotels and B&Bs in New Orleans, and Auld Sweet Olive is by far my favorite. I highly recommend it if you plan to visit the city. My family and I will definitely return to Auld Sweet Olive on our future visits to New Orleans.

Absolutely beautiful bed and breakfast with amazing hospitality! The room was beautiful clean and the upgraded bathroom was fantastic. I slept wonderfully in the bed and had a beautiful and relaxing time by the pool. Thank you to Kate and Carl! Highly recommend! Five stars!

I had the strangest experience with these folks. I booked and got a confirmation email stating that I would need an appointment or door code to check-in, and that they would contact me several days before my stay to make arrangements. The morning I was leaving for this trip, I relized I had not heard from them. So I called, and the line wasn't working. Then I emailed and no one responded. I also tried FB message, but no result.

First time at a bed-and-breakfast, and it was a wonderful experience from the time I knocked on the door I got greeted with a warm, welcome and a hug. Kate is a lovely woman, and made me feel like at home. Our room was cozy and comfortable. Our breakfast with Linda and Steve was so wonderful. Linda is an amazing cook, and Baker. they made us feel like family instantly. We were lucky to have a great parking spot in front of the place we did not drive our car anywhere in New Orleans area because we were so close to everything we walked we love walking and we are very close to everything, maybe about a mile mile and a half close restaurants around I felt safe in the neighborhood we stayed and loved it . Bourbon Street the whole atmosphere all around us :) love it and if you like history, this is the place to visit
