NewYork-Presbyterian Guest Facility

Many people here are getting the hospital for special surgery Bellaire hotel and guess the accommodations confused with New York Presbyterian. While HSS and New York Presbyterian are across the street from each other, they are distinct and separate entities. It has nothing to do with the Helmsley medical tower as one person wrote.

This is also called Helmsley Medical Tower Hotel. During our stay, we had a 1 bedroom King Apt. - meaning a separate bedroom from the living room/kitchen. It was competitively priced for NYC. Tips for first-time guests: The only identification on the building from the street is “The Helmsley Medical Tower.” So, there is no point in looking for New York-Presbyterian Guest Facility, as it is commonly referred to. I will also repeat what another reviewer mentioned. They do not use bedspreads or comforters over the sheets and the one blanket. There was an extra blanket in the closet, which we needed. Next time, we will bring an electrical extension cord. The outlet in the lamp by the bed didn’t work. GOOD: The space was roomy, except for the tiny bathroom. The kitchen was functional. Our room was clean and generally quiet. And, of course, the convenient location to medical facilities. BAD: The front desk staff was unfriendly and dismissive. The room was extremely outdated. The HVAC system was antiquated, and it was difficult to adjust the temperature. The low toilet might be a challenge for an infirm patient. The old mattress needs to be replaced. I will be returning for surgery, and we will stay here again for the location. We don’t want the inconvenience of needing a taxi or Uber back and forth between the hospital and a better hotel.

My husband and I are patients at MSK, and have stayed at the Helmsley Medical Tower on York Avenue a number of times. Our room/suite is always spacious and clean, and the kitchenette and bath are equipped with the essentials you need whether your stay is brief or extended. The staff, be it front desk or housekeeping or management, is always professional and accommodating (a special mention goes to Violet, who was able to patiently work through a little hiccup in our last stay). There is a great comfort in dependability and reliability, especially when you're under the strain of medical issues, and the Helmsley Medical Tower always comes through. Thanks much to everyone.

Great hotel in the middle of Cornell. Very neat. Very convenient to get to many places in NY city from this New York facility. I loved the fact that there were several restaurants within walking distance from the hotel. The train station was also within walking distance as well.

Stayed at the hotel for my daughters surgery at MSKCC. No frills but very convenient. Parked in basement parking garage. Room had a small kitchen with dishwasher, fridge, stove, coffee pot. Good staff. Because you park in the basement and they take the car right away, be prepared to unload in a quick minute. There’s no going back to the car. Advise using a large rolling suitcase or two that you can stuff everything in and roll to elevator. There’s no service for luggage in the garage. The staff is there only to park and retrieve cars. Overall, great stay at Helmsley Medical Tour. Room rate very reasonable for NYC and walking distance to hospital.
