Hotel was ok except for a brief alarm going off at 8am. I didn’t spend much time there, but it was a trek from train station. No complaints really

Reasonable for the price - minimal room & amenities, decent location (short bus or 20min walk out of town center), fair service.

It's was ok for one night the control for the TV did not work and I had no cups in the room but this was sorted out very promptly.no towels in the room

Smell very damp but cheap

Grainger Hotel is a nice hotel at all. The room is neat and the counter is very helpful. There is a supermarket nearby so that you can get everything you need. It would be a 30-minute walk from station to hotel and you need to walk up some gradient. The streets may be dirty so don't put bags on the ground.

Will definitely my choice if I come to newcastle again.

Not as seen in pictures . The room would be fine if it was priced as very cheap shabby bed. Not worth 150 pounds. Very unhappy with this. Not value for money. Unfortunately I had booked and they said nonrefundable but think it was false advertising. It was an improvement on the first room they showed me. I think if a customer says no you don't insist they stay or lose their money.

AVOID AVOID AVOID l! READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE BOOKING! Don’t make the same mistake I did & books last minute. Gross, dirty, noisy… just don’t book it. Mould in bathroom, no mattress protectors, smells, strange clientele are just the tip of the iceberg!

WELL me and my partner have had to seek out therapy due to the TRAUMA of this slum, not being dramatic. I actually contacted a water infection off the toilet, gods honest truth. Had no sleep due to Jeremy Kyle scenario that was playing out on the street at godly hours, saved us having to time travel to figure out how to work the tele from cash converters. We actually had a man come up to us and asked if we could swap his car for a joint of gammon that he had pinched from the local asda. This place made the Cecil Hotel look like a PALACE and we all know what goes on in there. However if anyone requires gammon or water infections and also a little sprinkle of PTSD this is the place to go. We also got high while walking up the stairs due to the strong smell of URINE and ****. I dont even think the local rodents contemplate checking those bins out. Only thing that was stunning was the kebab we managed to purchase along the street, who said romance was dead.

I arrived at 4:30pm only to be told the room wasn't ready yet. I was left wating in the lobby while a cleaner was found clean the room. When I arrived I was also told that I had to pay a £10 deposit, in cash, for the room key. I hadn't seen this anywhere while booking, but they insisted it was there. Luckily, I had some cash on me. Once in the room, things went downhill. The duvet felt a little damp on the top, the toilet cistern ran constantly (which you could hear even with the toilet door closed), and there was mould around the shower drain. Also, my room was on the ground floor, right next to the stairs, so all I could hear until well after midnight were people pounding up and down the stairs. If it wasn't for the fact I had no other options, I wouldn't have stayed.

I placed a booking to stay at this hotel in September 2024 for The Great North Run. After placing my booking I read the reviews on Trip Advisor. I should have done this before placing my booking. I have never seen a hotel with so many bad reviews, and as a solo traveller, I had serious concerns about staying in the hotel. So I cancelled my booking immediately and I knew the cancellation policy said I would be entitled to a refund. However I did not receive a refund so called the hotel but struggled to get through. So I emailed them. I did call them again and got through, and they confirmed a full refund would be issued. However I still have not had a refund and have now raised a dispute with my bank.

AVOID AVOID!!!!! Disgusting hostel with clearly drug users. I went with my boyfriend. We were woken up twice by alarms. This place is smelly, outdated I wouldn't give 1 star if I could. Mattress dag into my back we left at midnight as I couldn't cope with the drunks and on our way out downstairs room had couple half naked asking if my boyfriend was a dealer?? The smell of **** in the whole place is unbelievable. My boyfriend can't forgive himself for putting me through this hostel as its not worth calling it a hotel. Local Ubber driver told us that they house the homeless or people who have just come out of jail n nowhere to sleep. Makes sense. PICTURES ARE FAKED TO LOOK BEAUTIFUL. OUR ROOM HAD HUMAN FEACES ON WALL, BLINDS, TV AND TOILET DOOR WAS BROCKEN. AVOID AVOID AT ALL COST!!! YOU'D BE SAFER OUTSIDE.

Absolutely terrible do not go it's dirty , smells , scary and awful staff . I slept in my clothes and checked out as soon as I could Car park has no lighting and not safe to park in Nothing else to say
