My daughter and I enjoyed a week at Marshall Slocum Inn in March. We were warmly welcomed, and were given a map with infomation about Newport. We appreciated that most of the things we wanted to see were with in walking distance, including two grocery stores, one being A Market an organic grocery store. We stayed in the Apartment, it was beautiful, you could tell that they were working to preserve the historical aspect of the structures, but also adding some modern comforts. We were able to enjoy wonderful pasteries everyday and the shower was always hot! Both my daughter and myself were impressed with the cleanliness, warm welcome, and care that goes into what makes Marshall Slocum Inn so special. If my daughter and I are able to return to Newport in the future, we will be staying at the Inn again!

The Marshall Slocum Inn never fails to amaze. The inn is in a perfect location, quiet but very close to everything. The historical house is charming and perfectly maintained. Mark and his staff are friendly and always available for recommendations. There's ample parking in the back of the building. We have been back many times: it is our go-to place when in Newport.

We stayed at this inn 2 nights. The B & B is a bed but no breakfast only small little pastries and American coffee that is self serve. The price is over the top for what you get in accommodations. The bed mattress was comfortable and it has good ac. In general, the place needs a little TLC. The pictures are not what it looks in person. The inn keeper was very attentive and responsive to guests. I really think is too pricey for what they offer.

One of the nicest rooms we had during our trip, the guesthouse is comfortable and walkable to Newport marina, breakfast is a bit basic but in fairness it’s described as light continental, and it was fine for us, staff were helpful and kind and the sweet dispenser was very well received! It’s a great place to stay, you’ll enjoy it! Smart but not pretentious.

Clean, cozy room. Enough towels etc. Our stay felt like being at home. Coffee and water available during the day and small self service bar in the lobby area. Newport center is in the walking distance. We also walked to Cliff walk starting point (some 20 minutes from the house). Parking lot behind the house with plenty of space I give only 4 stars as the breakfast was very very Basic and in bad weather there was not much room to "enjoy" it. Overall, very good stay.

My wife and I have just returned from a two centre holiday in the USA. The first 5 nights we stayed at the Marshall Slocum Inn, 29 Kay Street, Newport, Rhode Island. This is a delightful family run guest house which is within walking distance of all Newport's main attractions (shops, restaurants, the harbour etc) and yet it is set in a quiet residential area. We received a really warm welcome on our arrival and that hospitality continued throughout our stay by the owner and his staff who were really friendly and helpful. We stayed in the Rose Room which is located on the top floor. We selected this room because we wanted a super king size bed which was really comfortable. The room itself was possibly smaller than some of the others but perfectly adequate for what we wanted. There are no tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms but every morning there was fresh coffee and hot water available in the lobby along with pastries which you could help yourself to. I cannot recommend this accommodation enough. It is full of New England charm and character. This was our first visit to Newport and we just loved it.

This was one of our favorite parts of our whole trip! The staff were so nice and helpful. We loved the beverage station, the treats, and the candy!! We also loved the games and played chess regularly on the patio during our stay! It was very clear they’ve made all the efforts of making you feel welcome and comfortable!!

Stayed in the apartment here for 3 nights. Absolutely perfect. Large bedroom with 1 king and 1 single ..lounge / kitchen with sofa tv microwave fridge freezer etc. Nice clean bathroom with showerPerfect . Also a breakfast with coffee.. tea..croissants .. yogurts.. banana etc. Jackson, the young guy was so helpful even arranged laundry washing / drying for a small fee. Like most properties it is old with great character and well looked after and very clean.Plenty of parking..10 minutes walk to everywhere ..restaurants..shops etc. We really enjoyed out stay
