Cbh Ilsington Country Hotel

Beautiful boutique hotel in a fabulous building. Staff were exceptionally polite, helpful & well trained. Food was excellent evening meal and breakfast. We used the Spa facilities which were as good as any we’ve been to. Will come back when working this way in the next few weeks.

What a find this hotel was! Situated on the southern edge of the Dartmoor National Park and a short drive from the A38, you really are in the middle of nowhere here. The public rooms are all very comfortable and modern but with that homely, country house hotel feel. Our bedroom was lovely; clean and with the most luxurious bed and bedding. The bathroom had been recently updated and the the views over Dartmoor were to die for. The food was quite simply, stunning. We were spoilt for choice and had trouble each evening deciding what to chose. The quality of the produce was a standout but the execution and presentation was beautifully done. The spa was the icing on the cake: a decent size swimming pool, lovely sauna and steam room and one of the biggest and best jacuzzis we have ever been in, complete with water jets and areas you can actually lie in. The hotel offers a selection of treatments reasonably priced with 10% off for guests. We sampled two and both were fabulous! From the welcome on our arrival to our departure, the service was super warm, friendly and professional. Everyone we met deserves a mention, so thank you to: George, Imogen, Dave (thanks for the tips on where to go and how to best get there!), Tom (we loved the banter!), Hollie (spelt correctly!), Mike, Sheila and Emma (good luck with the driving lessons!). We will certainly return. In fact we are already planning visit number 2!

From my booking experience , welcome, stay and thru to our departure we were made to feel special. The hotel is what spa hotels should be about, and the position of the hotel on the moors is stunning. Nothing was too much and all the added touches made the stay special. I have a serious food allergy and from my booking by phone thru to my stay and departure i was made to feel safe and reassured, this rarely happens for me and we cant wait to stay again.

a lovely hotel on the board of the moors, it gives you everything you would expect in this location. well looked after and nothing was any trouble. i would strongly recommend this hotel too anyone.

Second stay here whilst working away. The spa is superb, relaxing and clean, the rooms clean and the beds very comfortable. I had the duck, with smoked beetroot and white pudding in the restaurant and it was amazing. The food and atmosphere here is a real breath of fresh air. The staff here make it such a great place and it shows in the other reviews.
