The Western Ghats have always attracted people from all over the world; some visitors come here to explore the rich flora & fauna, while others want an escape from the daily hustle. Nestled in the lap of the Nilgiri Mountains, Chow Chow Valley Resort is the perfect getaway to de-stress from the hectic schedule of day-to-day life. We started out with a vision to provide travelers with a holistic experience of life in the mountains. Over a period of time, it has evolved into a much more elaborate offering. Since no two travelers have similar tastes, weve designed a campus that caters to the needs of varied audiences. Spread across a sprawling 20 acres right at the heart of Kotagiri, Chow Chow is perched right atop the valley. Offering a stunning birds-eye-view of the countryside, you are bound to feel overwhelmed by the pristine beauty. Chow Chow derives its name from the Chow Chow vegetable, also known as Chayote or Bangalore Brinjal. A part of the gourd family Cucurbitaceae, it is rich in water content akin to cucumbers & watermelons. Commonly referred to as Maerakkai down South, its commonly used in pickles & salads, adding a new flavor to stimulate your taste buds. Over 7 acres of the resort have been allocated for growing the vegetable. Surrounded otherwise by tea estates, experiencing the plantation is a unique affair. With multiple natural-water springs running through the estate, weve managed to harness natural resources in an eco-friendly way. We utilize the water for drinking & domestic purposes, while the rest of it is either stored locally or channelled for irrigation. We also have an internal reservoir that doubles up as a pond for the adventurous. You can also go in for natural aqua spa, as the reservoir is replenished with fishes. Our stay at this resort was decent. The resort is maintained and the staff were generally friendly and helpful. The location is plus, offering beautiful scenery. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The food was okay, but nothing exceptional. Overall, it was a solid, albeit average, experience. We would have appreciated a bit more variety in the dining options, and perhaps some additional amenities, like a better pool or a more active evening entertainment program.

The location is beautiful and rooms are average. Food was delicious. Staff behaviour and services was good.

One positive about the resort is the staff behaviour which is good , especially the lady staff at reception. The resort and restaurant lacks some serious hygiene.

the property is good in terms of location, but rooms are not well maintained. the services are very poor. if they are naming it as resort they should atleast have common facilities 🙁

Stay is worth all your penny nice views abed great food. Definitely recommend for everyone. Nice and tidy rooms as well.

Road to resort is amazing, food is average, booked a wooden cottage, my height is 6 feet and the room ceiling is 6. 2 feet found it very hard to walk without hurting and not able to change outfits, room tidiness is average and service is average, not much with regards to view of the cottage, customer service is good though.
