Camping Playa Joyel

I have to say this review is mainly directed at Eurocamp not the campsite but they shouldn’t allow such poor practice by Eurocamp. We booked a comfort XL with air con and got an old cramped mobile home falling to bits. No air con, broken window that you can’t open, broken wardrobe that you can’t hang clothes up in. It’s supposed to have sun loungers, there isn’t any, but there’s no space anywhere to put them as we’re so close to the road and the next neighbour. I’ve tried complaining to the reps but there’s always a long queue of customers complaining of the same thing. The campsite is ok but 75% of the pitches are too cramped, the pool has no shade and there’s fights for sun loungers and the restaurant is essentially an expensive cafe. Eurocamp have been dining out on their reputation from the 80s and 90s but it’s unrecognisable now. Their customer service is more like Ryanair. This year I think it might even have been their business model to upgrade all their existing mobile homes to the next level up, take the money and deal with the complaints later.

Just got back from 5 nights here. Overall would rate it a poor for the following reasons: You have to pay extra for everything - bed linen, wifi, use of tennis court etc. Some of the facilities were not open eg games room. The pools are not heated so useless in May. They have no tennis rackets etc for you to hire so we could not play any of the racket sports unless you bring your own. There is little privacy as one accommodation unit kitchen area looks directly into the others outdoor entertainment area. And they expect you to clean the entire unit before leaving!! Plus it’s not cheap. On the plus side it has great access to the beach and the supermarket is well stocked.

The site especially now its quiet is great. Good pitch, great location, clean sanitary block and friendly helpful staff…. but OMG the restaurant/ school canteen/ prison catering hall is disgusting. All food is microwaved or frozen crap. Ordered patatas bravas for 8e and was served a small portion of frozen chips with ketchup on. DO NOT EAT HERE. IT IS VILE We filed a formal council complaint it was so bad. You have been warned

Stayed here recently in our camper van, with two teenagers. We arrived early in the morning due to the ferry times and the reception staff allowed us to choose our pitch, and as it was free - we could set up straight away, which was so helpful! The pitches are good sizes and close to all the amenities, which are kept spotless and there is a cleaner present all day! Easy access to a beautiful beach, and the pool onsite is great too, with plenty of sun loungers to choose from. You do have to wear a swimming hat in the pool, which are available to buy in the shop. Seemed odd at first - but as everyone is wearing one, it just becomes the norm! The shop is well stocked and is reasonably priced, with lots of fresh items - and plenty of cold drinks! There is a also a chicken and chips takeaway, which is really good value and very tasty. The on site bar and restaurant bar is nice and again reasonably priced. Overall we had a fantastic time, highly recommend and will definitely be back!

This site is located right next to a beautiful beach , on a nature reserve. The site is huge but is really well laid out so it doesn’t feel too big. It is spotlessly clean and has everything that you need.There is even an animal park which opens once or twice a week to allow children to feed the animals The staff are very helpful and friendly and speak a multitude of languages. The site is close to small town of Noja where there is a larger supermarket, local market bars etc but parking is at a premium

Such a chilled out campsite. Very easy and relaxed. We stayed with Eurocamp and we had a fab time. The pools were nice, the shop was well stocked, and the rotisserie chicken was delicious. The beach nearby was the best part. The kids loved it. We were sorry to leave!
