The property is huge, but not all units belong to Oakwood.
Upon arrival, the service was good from the concierge.
One of the lifts to the apartments are extremely cranky and does not seem to be working well.
The corridors smell of moth balls.
The bedrooms in the apartment is not very big despite it being a 2 bedder. The apartment is very dirty and had a musty smell. There were ants all over the coffee table upon check-in. The toilet had a strong sewage smell, and the toilet bowl had a strong urine smell.
The finishings are old, and the wall in the toilet is mouldy.
The aircon compressor is placed at the balcony right outside the living room, and the compressor is EXTREMELY NOISY. It can even be heard from the smaller bedroom. Doors and walls are very thin.
There's a Family Mart on the ground floor, but it's always crowded - a lot of office workers as well, and for some reason, they do not accept credit card.
Outdoor swimming pool is big, but they do not provide towels. Kids' playroom is very sad looking, nothing like the photos. Food at the in-house restaurant is not bad, but we waited 1 hour for our food, despite being the only group in the restaurant. The indoor pool is a very far walk, located in another block, which you have to go through another small gate to access.
It is near PIK Avenue Mall, but a 15 minute walk from the apartment.
Also, this is not within Oakwood's control but there are many mainland Chinese guests, and they seem to hang around in the lobby. They are extremely loud. As we were checking in, one of them expected the concierge to speak Mandarin and asked why she (a local Indonesian) couldn't Mandarin to him. Extremely entitled behaviour (as a Chinese (but not PRC) myself, I am sorry for his behaviour).
For an Ascott property, it is really, really sad. The Ascott Jakarta, which I usually stay at, is way better than this.
Overall, it was a very disappointing stay. Was very glad it was only for 1 night.
