Caistor Hall

It was a celebratory dinner and very nice. We were offered al a carte and du jour menus to choose from - the choice was wide and varied. The food and service, excellent. Nice wines to choose from as well. Great value for their offering all round - I’m sure we will return. Thank you.

The Hotel is not equipped to deal with disabilities due the countless stairs and steps throughout the building. No lift available to upper floors. Whilst waiting for a table in an adjoining reception room, the lights continually kept dimmimg which made reading the menu's extremely difficult, so we resorted to using mobile phones lights. The bed we has in our room creaked at every small movement causing sleepless nights.Pillows smelt but were replaced upon request from the staff. Tried to call reception from the room, but the room telephone lead was missing and the phone was dead. My wife called the reception using her own phone on Saturday, there was no answer but she left her number on the recorded answer machine. Today it is Tuesday, we are at home but never received a reply. Good points: The food was very good, the staff very pleasant but seriously overworked.

I met an old work colleague who I hadn’t seen for 35 years. She had not been to Caistor Hall before, so I was looking forward to her enjoying it. The whole experience was so disappointing. It wasn’t busy so no atmosphere (not blaming them for that), we were seated in the lower ‘palm court’ area where there was an awful and obvious (ie. to the staff) smell of ammonia verging on a sewage smell (we asked to be moved), we had a club sandwich at £16 which came as a roll rather than a triple decker sandwich and a chicken burger and chips at £18. Both meals weren’t presented well, were not very tasty and were certainly not good value for money. Such a shame as we like Caistor Hall as a place but won’t be hurrying back after this experience. Come on Brasteds, you are better than this !!

Fabulous 2 course roast , now at the top of my list for the perfect roast beef sunday lunch , and considering i never eat at home sundays , ive tried plenty ! Couldnt fault the service , from bar , very polite and helpfull showing us to the garden room whilst we choose from the menu . Food was on time and well presented , wine perfectly chilled along with piping hot mains . Coffee and wine on the terrace watching the birds and squirrels Such a perfect chilled afternoon, we wish we had booked a room . Negatives ? If i had to find one , id moan about it being start of autumn and leaves are now on the patio . 😆

A friendly and warm welcome, Tuesday late afternoon. A charming place that feels homely and relaxed the second you step through the door. Spending early evening in the Whiskey Library winding down after a long day was just perfect. The evening meal was served by the attentive staff who were lovely people. Delicious food and presentation in the dining/breakfast room. My room was very nice, well thought out for the space with an abundance of coffee tea on offer. I enjoyed a comfortable night's sleep and tasty breakfast of smoked salmon with poached eggs and a pot of strong tea before heading to work for the day. The perfect stay over when I travel to Norwich, thank you.

Stayed here on the last night of our cycle around the #Rebellion Way. Very quirky old manor house - lots of twisting corridors and staircases everywhere. Unusual mechanism in ceiling way above reception. Bed was very comfortable and had all expected amenities. Breakfast was excellent. Very secure, covered bike storage. Recommended.

Fantastic hotel , food and staff excellent. Made us feel so welcome. The staff are so hard working they do everything they can to look after the guests . I’d definitely visit again. Thanks for a wonderful weekend. The food was amazing and I loved the room so quiet.

Stayed for one night as celebrating a birthday with friends and eating in the Mark Poynton restaurant. Although having a small room it was clean and perfectly serviceable. Staff fantastic lovely outside patio area and great breakfast, old building full of charm and a nice bar what more could you want

Stayed here for 2 nights, as we were celebrating our daughter’s graduation at the university. On arrival, reception checked us in and we went to our room. overlooks the garden, which is a lovely view watching the rabbits in the field nearby. The room was spacious and a lovely bathroom which steps down from the room. There is a bath in the room itself. We didn’t use this and the shower was lovely and spacious. We had breakfast on both days which was lovely and hot, very tasty, hot croissants and toast. We also had afternoon tea on the afternoon and this also was lovely. We had drinks in the evening and sat out in the garden. The hotel is about 10 mins outside Norwich and has a lovely country feel, with a Manor House vibe. Our friends were staying in a nearby hotel in town , when their flights were cancelled due the outages that happened that weekend, they booked in to the hotel and throughly enjoyed their stay. Staff were lovely and friendly and ordered taxis for us when we required them. Would definitely go back to this lovely manor hotel. Would highly recommend staying here.
