I stayed here for 7 nights last week, with my husband and two teenage sons. I absolutely loved the bungalow we were in, with the way it was constructed in a traditional style - so much beautiful wood. The construction style means that the wind blows through the rooms, making them cooler than in a brick building. There was no air con in the bungalow (good, and I didn't expect there to be), but there was an electric fan mounted in the wall which we kept on a low setting at night. It was wonderful to lie in bed with the doors of the bungalow open (we felt completely safe here) at night, listening to the waves lapping at the rocks below. Almost as lovely as sitting out on our little porch/veranda in the evening, sipping a cocktail and watching the incredible sunsets! The lodge is built on the rocks above white sandy beaches, and there is some good snorkeling to be had at low tide when the coral reef is accessible. The village on the beach next door is fairly noisy, but in a good way - cockerels crowing, the odd dog barking, and plenty of children singing! It felt like we were part of something rather than having descended on an uninhabited island. I must mention Mario and Stefano, both of whom were amazing hosts. Yes, Mario, everything is perfect! I don't eat seafood, so was worried about the lack of choice of food before we went, but I was catered for wonderfully and we all enjoyed the food. I particularly loved the hot tea and all the fruit for breakfast (which we shared with the gorgeous little green geckos!). If I could suggest one thing to improve the lodge, I'd ask for cushions on the restaurant chairs, as after burning my bum whilst snorkeling the wood felt quite hard after a while of sitting 😁
