Premier Inn Nottingham City Centre (Chapel Bar) Hotel

I had to change rooms upon arrival due to a bad smell in the first one. Then when I woke up in the morning I found the used bedding from the previous guest rolled up under the bed. On a positive note, the reception staff were helpful and the room was quiet, but that doesn’t outweigh how unclean it was.

Firstly, we paid extra for an 11am check in. We arrived at midday and our room was not ready, so we waited in the bar for 20 -30 minutes until the receptionist came to tell us the room was available. We also paid extra for a Premier Plus room which was no bigger than a standard room. We discovered that our duvet cover was stained, we had no bottled water or sweet treats (whatever they were!) only 4 coffee pods, we asked for more and we were told that they would be brought to our room, but they never arrived. The view from our room was very disappointing overlooking a flat roof and resembling an unfinished building site. the lift doors had graffiti on the inside. Overall, a very very disappointing experience. After more than ten years as a loyal customer it is unlikely that we will use Premier Inn again.

there was no ventilation in the bathroom, considering it is what i do for a living. the air valve was all clogged up and needed a good clean. we purchased a room that was meant to have two twin beds the same size, instead we were left with a double and small sofa bed.

Despite being right next to busy road and lots of roadworks going on, the room was quiet and comfortable. The only downside was there was only one electric socket on the bed side of the room, making it difficult to plug both CPAP machines in, but we anticipated this and had an extension cable. Check in was welcoming and everything went smoothly.

The gentleman on reception called Alex was very helpful and informative. The room was as described and well maintained. My only gripe.. I didn't realise there wasn't an on site car park and parked a couple of streets away which wasn't cheap. It might be an idea that the hotel rent customer parking spaces from the local NCP or council. Other than that, a pleasant stay.
