Oliphant Boutique Villa by Amaya

Hubby n self stayed for 3 nights in this delightful place. Small as not a sprawling estate but big hearted. Sumptuous meals, well kept comfortable rooms, picturesque gardens n simply marvellous service. Laxman is the one who holds this place together n fulfilled our every wish with a smile. Nothing is too difficult for him. The weather was great, took walks up into the tea estate adjacent to the property. Lovely views. Recommend this beautiful gem of a place with warm people to make ur stay in Nuwara Eliya a time to remember.

Located in the highest elevated tea plantation in Sri Lanka is the old colonial house the Oliphant. Literally surrounded by tea plants, this lovely boutique hotel offers peace and tranquility in an otherwise bustling island filled with busy lives. The staff here are friendly, respectful and eager to serve. Our three night stay was a joy that we will remember for many years to come. One recommendation would be to pack some warmer clothing as Nuwara Eliya has a very cool climate.

We've recently stayed at Oliphant and I would not stay anywhere else in Nuwara Eliya. The bungalow itself is utterly charming. Our room was very spacious with a high quality finish. Most importantly the staff were fantastic, they were friendly, accommodating and would do anything for you! I can't recommend enough.

Actual rating 3.5 The review sums it up...it's a cute colonial bungalow with a spacious garden...the room is well restored but was rather puzzled with the choice of tacky heat panels.... It's situated within a functioning tea estate though the factory is abandoned. There is also a view point, couldn't really find it though with the poor signage, but nevertheless had a nice short hike... The staff was efficient and experienced. The real downside was the food. Dinner was a set menu. The chicken was so-so and the margarita pizza was burnt... The breakfast (local option chosen) was slightly better, but extremely spicy (even for us locals) and with only a few accompaniments. The Google map directions are accurate and road is in good condition upto the bungalow. The rating is rounded up only because we found the place to be quite picturesque and charming....

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Nuwara Eliya. The food was absolutely delicious, with a variety of fresh and flavorful dishes. One of the highlights was the beautiful tea plantation right next to the property, perfect for a peaceful and scenic walk. The entire staff was incredibly kind, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. Their warmth and hospitality truly made the experience unforgettable. Highly recommended!

Excellent boutique lodgings high on hilltop of Oliphant tea plantation. Though not on the set menu, at our request custom offering of delicious Sri Lankan foods like Cashew curry, Gotukola sambol, and Pol (Coconut) sambol, etc. were delicious and arranged by Lakshman the attentive head of staff. He has been with the hotel since its opening 7yrs ago. He is a gem.
