Ferncliff Bungalow

This boutique bungalow is hidden away down a number of winding streets, away from the hustle and bustle of the town, but within easy walking distance. The staff are superb and on the occasion when the night time temperature dropped a log fire was lit in the dining room adding a cosy feel.The property is old and rustic but the bathrooms have been modernised to a high standard. This is a great place to use as a base to explore the area.

THE place to stay in Nuwara Eliya - the team here lead by Bernard are excellent and welcome you warmly into this beautiful guest house. The foods is amazing - we loved the breakfast and our evening meal. Each night we appreciated the hot water bottles delivered to our room. Lots of personal touches during our stay here. The room was spacious and we enjoyed the old world charm this house has maintained. Highly recommend Ferncliff as the best place to stay in this charming town

This was my first visit to Ferncliff Bungalow in Nuwara Eliya, and it was amazing. We enjoyed it a lot because the hotel is boutique-style, surrounded by greenery, and has a beautiful antique look. We loved spending time both inside and outside, enjoying the fresh air and delicious dinner & breakfast. The food was made with a lot of care and consideration. The staff at Ferncliff were exceptionally warm and friendly. The bedrooms were excellent and spotlessly clean, like the rest of the hotel. Everything about the hotel felt magical. I would highly recommend it.

We recently stayed at Ferncliff Bungalow in Nuwara Eliya, and it was a fantastic experience. The bungalow has this old-world charm that makes you feel like you’ve stepped back in time, but with all the modern comforts you need. The gardens with a view of Piduruthalagala, the tallest mountain and thyme, rosemary and apples growing are beautiful and perfect for a morning stroll with a cup of tea. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, Roshan took care of us perfectly well. making sure we had everything we needed. Having authentic chicken lamprais for Dinner and sri lankan string hoppers for Breakfast was delicious with fresh, local ingredients. It was a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful and cozy retreat.

Lovely bungalow with garden and summer house. Gorgeous dark wood inside. Great curry dinner. Close to lovely Victoria Park and walkeable to tea plantations. While staying we had high tea at Hills Club, visited colonial buildings in town, visited Pedro Tea Estate and walked to a waterfall. Great service at Ferncliff. Recommended!

A lovely escape in the heart of Nuwara Eliya. Great base to explore the town, Lovers Leap and so much more. Loved lazing the garden, looking up at the tallest mountain, enjoyed the high tea and cuisine. Can't wait to return to check out the bar and walking tour they say they are starting.
