an absolutely horrible experience. despite having a nicer room (at a higher price) the noise in the room was unbearable. the window was broken and couldn't be fully closed, so more noise came in. you could see light around the door to the room, so more noise coming in. we were told that we could only get a 50% refund, and still we left and went to another hotel. then they refused to give any refund!! DO NOT STAY HERE.

We came to Oaxaca for a wedding and stayed at los amantes because of the proximity to all of the events. This place is LOUD. imagine you’re in a night club until 1 am every day and the staff still comes in load and roaring at 6 am. I’ve never had a worse experience at any hotel in my life. There’s music going in until late hours of the night, people aren’t quiet, the managers and staff don’t give a crap, it’s just awful.

There's a lot to like about this hotel. The location is perfect with lots of outdoor markets and sellers right outside the hotel. There are also lots of great restaurants, bars, and shops. The hotel itself is lovely, with friendly and helpful staff, well appointed rooms, a great rooftop restaurant and bar. The hotel contracts with drivers that can provide transportation from/to the airport, or to points of interest. However, it was only after booking our room online that we received an email from the hotel notifying us that due to its central location, there will be noise from the rooftop restaurant and surrounding streets that can be heard in the rooms at night. We took that under advisement and packed a white noise machine and earplugs. We had a room on the second floor, and really by 12:30 pm, the hotel was quiet. Our friends had rooms on the first floor, and they heard noises from the surrounding streets and restaurants that went on until 1 am, but everyone just slept in and seemed well rested the next day.

It all summarizes in one word: Terrible. Poor customer service, the shower and bathroom floors are stained and permanently dirty, the shower temperature oscillates between boiling lava and a Siberian lake in winter. On top of that, try sleeping with all the music and people outside. There’s very loud music and people talking just outside your door all night. No sound buffer AT ALL. They literally leave ear plugs in the night stand, which aren’t enough. They also charged us an extra night even though we didn’t book it and there was no way of canceling it, so we had to pay it. Do yourself a favor and don’t stay here.

This is a good hotel, in an incredibly central location. We had the Mexican suite on the ground floor which was a decent size, comfy bed and good amenities. The hairdryer was particularly good! Ok, as per other reviews, it is noisy but you're in central Oaxaca therefore you're likely here to party anyway. Most hotels are fairly open in structure and have rooftop bars with a stairway into the central reception so I don't think you could avoid noise. The hotel however so provide earplugs and we slept through. The staff are very professional and friendly. The breakfast is across the road on the beautiful terrace with a great view. It is a good breakfast (8am to 11.30am). They also have a small mezcal bar which had a lot of atmosphere. I gave three star rather than 4 as it was good but nothing exceptional. Would I stay here again, yes.

NO VAYAN AL ROOF, dicen que NO hacen reserva y resulta que cuando llegue y pedí cierta mesa me dijeron que estaba reservada, después de un rato se la dieron a otros comensales que estaban a lado de mi, o sea tienen sus favoritos o es cuando ellos quieran

Rooms are nice but lack some basic comforts like storage for clothes. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Roof bar has a great view and good drinks. Very nicely located near cathedral and local sites and restaurants. All rooms are different and unique. Cool place. Would definitely go back

I went here with some friends to have drinks and watch the sunset. The waiter was really rude--the only rude person I met in a month in Oaxaca--the service was slow. They told one friend they don't make margaritas, only their signature drinks. Then they overcharged us in a really sleazy way. Go to Gozabi or Pitiona next door. Much nicer staff and better view.

The hotel itself is gorgeous. I loved the layout of it and its architecture. You really feel like you’re visiting one of the local houses! Location is great so you can walk anywhere in the city. There’re tons of restaurants, cafes and mercados on a mile radius. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of five. Is the fact that the noise of the bar is very loud when you’re trying to sleep or take a nap during the afternoon.
