Selina Oaxaca

Not a good experience...the "security guard" is completely unhinged - absolutely mad behaviours by said individual. At around 11pm the night of my arrival, he came galloping over to me at a workspace as if I was implementing a global meltdown and frantically started relocating me to another place. The following morning I was up at 6:45am and minding my own business when my phone for literally seconds started playing a YouTube video full volume. Within a few more seconds before I could mute it, the same guy comes charging over (it's not that early....almost 7am in a hostel?) and literally looses his mind! I've nevrr experienced behaviours like this by staff...this guy in particular treats the place like it's his own personal echo chamber and that it's a privilege for you to be there! Aside from the above, the place is really nice, so the latter is a shame and the desk staff were friendly. The room, however, had no windows and though fine, wasn't as good as other Selinas.

I've stayed at other Selina's all across LATAM and generally have a good experience because I know they will have a restaurant, bar, games, cowork, good vibes, etc. This is unfortunately the smallest Selina I have come across by far. It is beyond loud, both from the street and from being able to hear the music and people within the Selina because of how it's set up. It is extremely bare bones. The communal kitchen is barely big enough for two people to be in and doesn't have much to offer. The cowork is also a small room with a bunch of desks shoved in it. There's no pool, no movie room, no library, the rooftop bar was closed for construction. I got food poisoning from a chicken sandwich at the restaurant. The staff was kind and did their job. The rooms were clean. If that's all you're looking for then this may be fine for you, but I generally expect a lot more from my Selina experience. And as mentioned it was very loud with tour buses constantly going by, music from the bars, etc.

Very disappointed, in particular room 5, I think they should not have that space set up as a room 1. It is located next to the kitchen and at the main entrance, so you cannot sleep well at night with all the noise made by other guests and the Selina team. 2. Inside the room is the "Drain" of the hotel's water, so the odors are sometimes very strong and bad 3 It is located next to the boilers and they make a lot of noise and should not be located there. 4 The cleaning of the rooms is very bad, the towels are very old, and there are cockroaches in the bathroom (possibly because it is next to the kitchen). Ultimately, I decided to end my stay earlier because I was suffering my vacation instead of enjoying it and decided to book another hotel.

I purchased a standard room from Priceline and called to confirm there was an en suite bathroom. After my purchase I was told they sold out of the standard and the Selina decided the micro room was an adequate replacement even though it is smaller and they didn’t refund me any money. They refused to let me refund the room. I went under the impression I would have my own bathroom. I showed up and that was not the case. I am sharing a bathroom, which is combined with the shower with about 5-10 other people meaning if someone is showering no one can use the toilet. I went to use the restroom and a couple came out from showering together so that’s fun. Only 2 sinks on opposite sides of the floor. I honestly don’t want to walk through my room without shoes on. It’s wildly loud, no seal on the door. Im supposed to stay here for 5 more days and I will not. I will find another place and work it out with my credit card company. 10/10 would not recommend. Great location tho if that’s your bar for entry.

I had big expectations staying at the selina brand and had heard lots of amazing things. I booked a suite at some cost. the room location was a corner unit right next to the boiler. this ensured that i was woken up at 5am every morning when water ran till past 11pm. the staff tried to be helpful but were less than. besides language barrier overall. not a great experience. no welcome drink voucher given. despite enhanced room selection. less than expected for price and noise. great location. nice hotel and levels and people to meet

The place looks great but is badly managed by the staff. The reception staff seem to be more interested in their mobile phones than in helping out their guests or answering basic questions. The rooms at the street side (we heard a lot of noise coming from cars and fireworks) and the court yard (music from the rooftopbar) are very noisy
