Kilchrenan House

Beautiful accommodation in a fantastic location at the quiet end of the promenade. On site parking was great. Book room #10, you won't be disappointed! Our room was huge, immaculate, super comfy 4 post king bed, large sitting area in bay window looking out at the promenade and bay. The bathroom was huge and updated nicely. Very friendly check in from host. No breakfast, but loads of options in the area. We enjoyed watching the ferries come and go from our sitting area. We stayed only one night as we were catching the ferry to Mull the next morning and were sad to leave our amazing accommodation. A great base for exploring the area and we would definitely book again if in the the area. 10/10!

We have just returned from a lovely weekend here. The hotel is perfectly situated with sea views and ample free parking. Check in was quick and friendly, we were given a free shot of whiskey which was a lovely touch. The room was on the top floor, it was spacious with a separate lounge/ fridge area with croissants, water, orange juice, tea, coffee and hot chocolate which were replenished daily. The view was lovely and the area is quiet.

Lovely house, great views. Room was very spacious and had everything we needed. On a personal note, I hate mismatched wire coat hangers, they leave clothes crushed, wouldn't cost much to put nice wooden, matching ones in the wardrobe. The bathroom was huge and also had great views the showers was big. The sitting room with log fire was a welcome sight and the wee dram a nice touch. It was an easy walk into town for dinner. The only thing that let it down was no breakfast. We knew this beforehand but for this reason I probably wouldn't stay again. The vacuum packed croissants didn't hit the spot. Some nice fresh pastries would have sufficed.

We arrived with no booking as our booked accommodation let us down. Frances and Colin welcomed us and let us look at our room before we agreed to stay. They were very lovely and helpful during our stay. It is a fantastic location being just 10 mins stroll into the centre of Oban. They also have great views over the bay.

We stayed in the chalet and the accommodations were excellent. The host provided complimentary Prosecco and local beer in our fridge as well as milk for tea and breakfast items in the mornings. The chalet was cozy, private and a wonderful place to come back to after a long day out seeing the sights. Would highly recommend to anyone coming to Oban, Scotland.

Kilchrenan House is a big old (1880’s) property on the waterfront in Oban. Our room had a view of the water, a nice feature. It’s located on the Promenade about a 15 minute walk to Restaurants, distillery and shops, about 20 minutes to the ferries. Kilchrenan offers porridge, coffee, tea and croissants in the room for breakfast. We typically book places that offer breakfast, we enjoy talking with other guests and hearing about their travels. Unfortunately due to difficulty with staffing they only offer the in room option which worked for us. There was a lovely room on first floor that appears to be where breakfast used to be served.
