The grounds were lovely, you can feed the alpacas and the sheep carrots. Breakfast was excellent. Nice to have your own outside space, it made it very relaxing. Very clean everywhere. Bernie and Marie the hosts were very welcoming and helpful

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our 3-night stay at the Ruapehu Country Lodge! It was one of our favorite places to stay during our 3-week trip to New Zealand. The property is beautiful, inside and out. We stayed in the Ngauruhoe room, which had a lovely view of the garden. Hosts Bernie and Marie were very welcoming and accommodating. They served a delicious breakfast (complete with Marie's homemade rhubarb preserves). We enjoyed the family-style breakfast because it gave us the opportunity to spend time with other guests from all over the world. The location of the B & B was perfect for day trips to Tongarriro National Park. Bernie was very helpful in recommending sites to see and scenic drives that were lesser known.

A wonderful 2 night stay here started with Bernie waiting for us in the platform as our train pulled in. Before we even got to the lodge we had a brilliant drive up to Mt Ruapehu and the ski lodges just to show us the area The accommodation is delightful. Lush gardens decorated by their own sculptures snd three alpacas ( and a few sheep ) to greet you The rooms are well equipped. The lounge spacious and generously furnished and the breakfasts wonderful Marie’s home made jams and compote together with their home produced Miluka honey gets the day off to a great start This is a fabulous place to stay and will be a highlight of any trip

We had the most wonderful time in Ruapehu Country Lodge. Lovely room, beautiful gardens to sit and relax and a super breakfast to start the day. Bernie and Marie, our hosts, did everything they could to make our stay comfortable and uncomplicated. After breakfast Bernie gave tips, depending on the weather, what trips or sightseeing would be best for the day. Literally next door there‘s a golf course and Bernie lent my husband his clubs and managed to dig up some ladies clubs for me. Amazing! We had a good time on the course, thanks Bernie!!

Perfect stay. We were here for 3 nights, very nice people, amazing homemade breakfast, sauna, whirlpool beautiful rooms, everything there what you might want. 30 min drive to the National Park Village on a good, empty road. Clear recommendation!

This was the asolute Highlight amongst all accommodations past three weeks. A fantastic wunderland of estate, so meticulously maintained and arranged. Just the driveway is unique and surprising. But the real Highlight are Marie and Bernie. Mange tak Marie and many thanks Bernie. You cared so nicely and made our short stay so pleasant og hyggeligt. The jet-boat trip Bernie arranged on our arrival was great. We left with great memories. Hope to see you again and Happy New Year og Godt nytår!

We stayed for 3 nights. Both Marie and Bernie made us feel really welcome and helped us in every way. Preparing for the tongariro crossing and the relaxing afterwards. The breakfast was also very good. Thank you for the amazing stay with superb service

This is one beautiful place to stay, set in lovely grounds complete with llamas, sheep and chickens. Several days here rather than just two nights would have been perfect. Maria and Bernie are first class hosts. A fine breakfast which included home produce.

We spent an amazing, relaxing 3 days at Ruapehu Country lodge. Bernie and Marie were extremely friendly and helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The communal lounge with its big, roaring fire, was a lovely place to enjoy a glass of red after a long walk. The rooms were clean, cozy and well appointed. We will be back to explore this region further and can’t wait to come and stay here again!! Highly recommend
