Sandals Barbados All Inclusive - Couples Only

Excellent experience. 1st time staying at a Sandals resort. Service was great. Checkin and checkout was above average. Concierge was outstanding. Food was very good. All venues were very entertaining. Overall great experience and look forward to a return stay.

After a FANTASTIC week at Sandals Barbados here’s my thoughts. 1st, the resort itself is absolutely beautiful. We stayed at Club Level. From the moment we got to the property the concierge was fantastic Duane gave us the tour and treated us like lifelong friends. During the week we tried to eat at different restaurants as much as possible just to experience them. Mariner had some good food by the pool for lunch. Dino’s pizza - we ate there twice. 1st time wasn’t great. But the 2nd time was MUCH better. Schooner’s - the food was great the service was kind of a miss. The server wasn’t rude but wasn’t personable either. Merry Monkey- we went in late. It was packed. Other than it taking a while to get the food, no complaints. It was hot and delicious. Kimono’s - from start to finish it was a great experience. The chef was hilarious, the server was attentive and the food was amazing Butch’s Chophouse- the filet mignon was out of this world delicious. My wife order surf and turf and said hers was delicious as well. Spice’s - ate breakfast there a couple times. Buffet, the food was hot and good. It’s breakfast so I didn’t expect it to be “spectacular” Cafe Paris - good Variety of pastries only complaint, they were out if the sugar free options for the coffee Butch’s Steak and Seafood - ny steak wasnt as good as I’d hoped but the service was great. American Tavern - good food and service at dinner there once and breakfast there twice. Neptune’s - the Mahi Mahi was out of this world delicious I was disappointed in the all day rum tour. We spent way too long in the van riding around and the driver was nice but rambled on and on about things no one cared about. The snorkel tour / swim with turtles was amazing. My wife and I both really enjoyed it. The Piano Bar was probably our favorite at night attraction. The karaoke was fun. The lady running it was an absolute blast. Nakeem the bartender sang and danced. Truly a great guy. We loved this resort so much we booked again for next summer. 355 days to go!

Fantastic facilities with amazing food options. Not my last stay at a Sandals! All the staff is attentive to your needs. Lots of options for activities for all levels of activity. Bartenders create a lot new drinks - this in includes Kiann who creates a concoctions of vodka and raspberry flavors that was amazing!

Overall, the resort was nice enough, but the price was high for the quality of food and rooms. The beds were not comfortable at all. Staff friendliness was hit or miss and at times you almost felt like you were a bother. Hot water in the room was scarce in the evening. I took more than one cold shower. Our air conditioner was leaking to the point of water pooling on the ground and onto the balcony, so my husband called 3 times. No one came until I walked to the front desk to report it. The internet was spotty often. Unfortunately, my husband’s Apple earbuds were stolen and we could never find them. We stayed on the Barbados side but spent more time by the pools at Royal. We definitely loved a many of the pool staff. Shay made a wonderful spicy margarita and went above and beyond to be sure that he had the right ingredients. Chevrine and Dale were so sweet and made sure we always had what we wanted. We just felt in comparison to other all inclusive resorts that we have stayed, Sandals was much more expensive yet not as good of quality. We would go back to Barbados, but would likely stay at a different resort or hotel.

We returned home on 04/13 after 12 wonderful days in Barbados and are slowly getting used to cooking for ourselves again, not laying by the pool soaking up the sun, having a libation whenever we want and having an amazing property to explore. As promised before we left here is our review: Having both properties separated by just a service road is fantastic with all kinds of options for places to eat, pools to visit and grounds to roam. We were staying in the Beachfront Penthouse Club Level Suite (code OPT) room 1510 and the view was exactly as described. The room itself was a little dated with a tub/shower combination that IMHO needs to be changed to a walk in shower, but it certainly didn't affect our stay. Favorite restaurants were Greenhouse, Butch's Chophouse, Chi, Kimono's, Cafe de Paris and Heart & Sol. As other's have stated, staffing levels at some times were short, so we had to wait, but we were on vacation and the only appointment we had was with the pool, beach, or bed. Speaking of restaurants, I would like to give a shout out to some of the staff: Regina at La Parisienne, Mark and Tiana at Ch, Suzanne, Donique and Shanique M at Greenhouse, Amanda at Butch's Steak and Seafood, Patrice at Mariners/Dinos in the Calypso bar area and Alicia at the Calypso Bar. The Red Lane Spa set up at this property is fantastic with sauna, steam room and hot and cold plunge pools as well as all of the other amenities. And we had 2 wonderful massages from Shana and Jalisa. Our favorite excursion was the Lover's Rock Sunset Cruise and snorkeling. with beautiful views, great snorkeling and a great captain and crew. Speaking of snorkeling, there is free snorkeling Tuesday, Friday and Sunday if you are club level. Thanks Shanelle in the Club Sandals Lounge for all of your help with that as well as dining reservations. We were able to get chairs with umbrellas at the main oceanfront pool every day and no I didn't get up at 6:00 to save them. We went down about 7:30 for breakfast at Spices and grabbed some chairs, but saw chairs available as late as 10:00 on some days. We had a fantastic time and have been asking ourselves why we never tried this property before. Go and enjoy yourselves.

Mixed Feelings – Beautiful Resort, But Service Let Us Down We’ve just returned from Sandals Barbados and while there were definitely some highlights, overall the experience didn’t live up to the 5-star promise. The Good: Our room was fantastic – clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. Transfers to and from the hotel were smooth and well organised. The resort itself is beautiful, and discovering the rooftop bar was a real gem – amazing views and a lovely atmosphere. A few members of staff truly made our stay better – special thanks to Gilbert at Soy, Shaula at La Parisienne, Lisa H at Neptune’s, and Lakeisha and Josiah at the Greenhouse, as well as Shakiela at Soy. They were warm, welcoming, and seemed genuinely happy to help. The Not So Good: Unfortunately, the general service and staff attitude left a lot to be desired. Many team members seemed unhappy, disinterested, and at times even rude. When ordering another drink, we were asked to hand over our dirty glasses to have them refilled – not something you expect at a premium resort. We requested a bottle of champagne to be delivered to our room to mark a special occasion. It took over 90 minutes, arrived warm, with no ice bucket, no champagne glasses – just handed over as-is. It felt careless and completely missed the mark for a 5-star experience. Check-in was equally underwhelming – we were given a tablet and vaguely told where to go with little to no explanation or warm welcome. Again, not the level of service we were expecting. Also worth mentioning – the early morning scramble for sunbeds was frustrating, with people reserving spots from as early as 7am. It really disrupted the relaxing vibe we were hoping for. Final Thoughts: This could have been a fantastic stay – the setting is beautiful, and a few stand-out staff made a big difference. But sadly, poor service and a general lack of warmth from most of the team took the shine off what should have been a luxurious, relaxing holiday.
