Niyama Private Islands Maldives

Had the best time! Everything was perfect: the room, the food, the staff. Would definitely recommend and also come again in the future! Such a beautiful island & resort! I liked that the island was big enough to go around by bike and explore a bit. You also felt like you had a lot of places all to yourself which I loved.

WOOW! I don’t know where to start. We had an absolutely amazing stay at Niyama! This was our first trip to the Maldives and it really lived up to our expectations of island paradise! Our thakuru (personal butler/party planner/info centre/driver/organiser/receptionist and more ) Yuliya, really took care of us from the minute we landed till we were back on the seaplane after a week in paradise. We had a beach pool villa which was absolutely perfect for our little family. Lazing by the pool or on the beach, taking our own labelled bikes to go around the islands, meeting the guy with the fresh coconuts for a refreshing drink. Having movie night in our villa with making our own popcorn from the popcorn maker (nice touch!), and enjoying the daily complimentary ice cream from our freezer. Our kids absolutely loved the kids club, and the activities available were fantastic, dolphin trips, snorkelling trips, cooking with the chef and much much more, great service by Rau and Lam especially, but they were all great! Across the islands we had fantastic service, from very friendly staff! Only a couple of times we experienced a little slow service in two of the restaurants but not enough to upset our view of this resort. Dewa, Adi and Ruslan were just some of the amazing staff we met at the various restaurants here, but they were all great, just to many names to remember Our villa was also kept in great shape from our housekeeper, and beautiful decorations for our no more than 3(!) birthdays during our stay. Words really do not do justice to our stay in this paradise, and again a big thank you to Yuliya and the rest of the staff for making our stay effortless and a memory for life!

Niyama was the eighth island we visited in the Maldives, and it was by far the most beautiful. The island has lush vegetation unlike anything we’ve seen on other islands. It is very well maintained, yet still gives you the feeling of being in a natural jungle. The beach has fine, white sand, and everywhere you can spot little crabs. The water is calm, and the colors are simply a dream. We didn’t go snorkeling, so we can’t give a review on that. We stayed in two Deluxe Beach Pool Villas on Chill Island, located on one of the nicest stretches of beach. We had villas number 18 and 19, both offering stunning ocean views. The villas are newly refurbished and leave nothing to be desired. One thing we didn’t love was the open-air bathroom, as it gets quite hot in March, but this is something we’ve experienced on other islands as well. We visited both buffet restaurants, Epicure and Blu. Each day of the week features a different theme. The food selection is extensive, and the quality is excellent. We personally preferred Blu over Epicure, as it is smaller and quieter. A special thanks to Said, who cooked wonderfully at Blu and kindly recommended dishes to us. We also dined at the à la carte restaurants Tribal and Nest. Both are beautifully designed and unique in the Maldives. The food quality was high, and the prices were reasonable (especially with half-board food credit). At Nest, we’d like to thank Adi for his outstanding service. We also recommend ordering different dishes and sharing them to experience more variety. The resort offers plenty of activities. We did the Lucky Dolphin tour and saw many dolphins, which was an unforgettable experience. We also did the one-hour jet ski tour. However, the sea was quite rough, making it less enjoyable. A special highlight was our sunset surf lesson, which we highly recommend. The setting was beautiful, and it was a lot of fun. A big thanks goes to Lasse, who was an excellent surf instructor. Some activities could be priced more reasonably. For example, we think the morning yoga session could be complimentary rather than costing $40. The hotel follows an interesting concept, there’s no traditional reception! Instead, you have a Thakuru (butler), who is your personal contact for everything. This works perfectly. We had the pleasure of having Imthy as our Thakuru. He handled all our requests flawlessly and always had a smile on his face. He truly made a difference in our stay at Niyama. We would describe the resort as offering “chilled luxury.” If you’re expecting classic luxury like One&Only, you might be disappointed. For example, there’s no pressure to wear long trousers at dinner, and room keys are water-resistant wristbands. There’s also Imran, who walks around the beach bringing fresh coconuts that he picks from the island, small touches like these add to the laid-back surf vibe of Niyama, which is perfectly captured during sunset at the Surf Shack. Our stay at Niyama was one of the best vacation we ever had. Beautiful islands and delicious food. Wonderful beaches and friendly/helpful staff. Ammi was our butler and he took care of us really well and I have the best experience vacationing at Niyama. He is always there when I need help.

We book this Resort trusting Minor reputation standards and we couldn’t do better . Quality of the Villas and service in it was superlative, nothing is never a trouble. 2 islands to choose from in the same resort plenty of sport activities from surfing to tennis and despite the island is busy you feel very few guests are in. A good F&B choice of Restaurant and bars to choose from , great quality of breakfast . Cherry on the cake is their Asian concept Nest Restaurant on top of their strangle figa trees , simply OUTSTANDING. Buffet Restaurant choice could improve but still good quality to be in Maldives . P.S. just remove Russian translation in the buffet tags… not very elegant as Maldives is not a Russian territory. Villa are kept very well , very well equipped nothing is missing or needed. The service throughout the island is excellent , competence and professionalism could be felt in any corner with any encounter , even the coconut boy is a great surprise. Niyama is the only Island in Maldives that offers fresh coconut free of charge to its guests… smart idea Congrats to the Management of the Island to keep a great spirit amongst employees and guests . Incredible stay in an incredible place. Unsurpassed and attentive service. This place oozes peace and tranquility and is incredibly romantic. This was our second stay here and we’ll definitely be back for a third. Leaving today so chilled. Super friendly staff - big shout out to Shammu, all the breakfast staff at Blu and the wonderful Ao & Ari @ the spa.
