Saruni Wild

We enjoyed the second leg of our honeymoon at Saruni Wild and it was absolutely amazing. The camp’s few tents offered a true bush-camp feel; tent-based and beautifully cosy. The tents felt like luxury and were so comfortable and spacious with a veranda on each to sit out and enjoy the day. We enjoyed special private breakfasts and lunches right on the grass, surrounded by nature. One night, we had dinner outside beneath the sky which was so beautiful. On our last night, a hippo wandered right into camp, bringing the wild straight to our doorstep! The rangers patrol the camp at night so we felt very safe at all times. The wildlife viewing was incredible. We saw lions and cheetahs just a 10-minute drive away. We were amazed by the number of lions on the conservancy and the highlight was seeing two sets of cubs, tiny ones only around a month old and older ones around 8 months. We could have watched them playing all day. Our guide David was so knowledgeable and answered every single question we had. The level of service felt so personal and warm and we loved sharing drinks with the other guests and getting to know the staff. I had a full body massage which was so nice and relaxing right at the tent. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this camp to anyone and hope to someday come back! They made our honeymoon so special

Our stay at Saruni Wild was an incredible experience that felt both adventurous and comfortable. The camp is set in a pristine location where you are constantly close to wildlife. During our stay there were buffalos, elephants, giraffes, and even hippos that visited our camp. Our guide David was outstanding, combining expert knowledge with a genuine love for the animals, which made each game drive unforgettable. Our tent was private with an en-suite bathroom that had running hot water, ensuring comfort after long drives. Every meal was impressive, with delicious three-course dinners and lunches served in camp, as well as an unforgettable bush breakfast in the wild. The staff were warm, attentive, and highly professional, making us feel at home throughout our stay. For anyone seeking an authentic safari with direct proximity to animals and excellent hospitality, Saruni Wild is a perfect choice.

We spent 4 nights at Saruni Wild and had such a magical experience! It was located in the heart of the Masai Mara - right by all the wildlife! We had a fantastic guide, John, who never failed to show us the action! We saw lions on every drive, rhinos, a cheetah and her cub, giraffes, zebras and Elephants. It was incredible! He always got us so close to the animals and often we were the only car which made it so intimate and special. The camp was comfortable, beautifully decorated in radical African furnishings. The staff were fantastic - special shout out to Edward, Simon and Chris who made sure we were so comfortable at all times. Food was delicious and fresh! We also visited a local Massi village which was a fantastic experience.

My travel companion and I enjoyed Saruni Wild immensely. On arrival we were welcomed and greeted warmly by the staff, with the traditional cool cloth and drink. Our room was warm and welcoming. Our meals were tasty and it would have been lovely to have more Afro- or Kenya- centered dinners. Our driver/guide Joshua was friendly and funny, and extremely knowledgeable about game in the Maasai Mara. He also taught us about, the environment, and animal behavior, both on the day drives but particularly on the night game drives. I would definitely return to Saruni Wild.

We wanted an experience that struck the right balance of getting as close as possible to the natural wildness of the Mara while being a little indulgent and of course safe. Saruni Wild and its friendly team gave us exactly that. Where else can you watch elephants and zebra from your veranda, and be woken by elephants chomping the vegetation right outside your (very luxurious) tent? A really fun, memorable experience.
