Opuwo Country Lodge

Beds are comfortable and clean. Linen is so clean and smells fresh....The view is super amazing...I love that each room has a glass door for the sunset view. Very friendly and competent staff.

I always like to read bad reviews before i visit any place. the reviews n Google made his property seem to be bad, but to my surprise, it truly was an out of this world experience. From entering the property i was greeted with a warm and welcoming smile from the gate to the main building at reception. management is hands on with the guests arriving and are extremely helpful and friendly. rooms were amazing and especially the food was amazing. service was five stars as no clients were neglected at any point during the stay. i truly recommend this property to anyone visiting Opuwo.

Google maps takes you on a questionable dirt road through neighbourhoods leading up the hill but trust the process! You are met with a lovely lodge at the edge of the hill, with stunning views. We camped, so our view was one overlooking the town of Opuwo. Clean campsite and facilities made for a great one night stop over, WIFI and the infinity pool also helped made our stay one to remember.

We stayed 2 nights in the camping area. The space was very basic but functional. In the area with a cement floor and shaded roof, we thought it would be very useful to place a table and chairs so guests can eat while sitting. Our van didn't have a table, so we always had to eat standing up. The bathroom could have wooden doors and ceilings instead of metal (they make a lot of noise and heat). The shower drain doesn't drain well, leaving an uncomfortable lake for the next person. The restaurant and pool area is wonderful with breathtaking views. The bar was very pleasant and the waiters were very friendly! You can see that they put more love into building this area than the camping area. We felt that the camping area was not part of the rest of the complex, as it lacked some identity... some wonderful African art decorations in the main area would be fabulous and would create a more welcoming atmosphere. The staff was quite friendly. Our experience was still memorable :) Sunrise and sunset are magical!

This was our least favourite of the places we stayed in our 16 day trip to Namibia. The staff were all very helpful and friendly, as in every place we stayed. We knew it would be the most basic of our accommodation on our trip and the room was clean and comfortable, although probably due for an update. However, it wasn't a place where we felt very comfortable - it is perched on top of a hill above a very poor town, and to us it felt very much like it was harking back to the days of colonialism. We took a trip to meet the Himba people, which was our main reason for driving this far north. However, although the Himba were warm and friendly, ann our guide Jay was very chatty and informative, to us it felt like something of a spectacle and we weren't comfortable with it.

I stayed here for one night as part of a tour group of 6. Rooms are a long way from the main area and there is no wifi in the rooms. The room was ok, shower was difficult to regulate the hot/cold water. Restaurant food was ok, It was just an average experience. The only redeeming feature was the magnificent view over the valley.
