My wife and I booked two rooms at the Crown and Castle, for a short break with my son and his girlfriend last summer (sorry, I'm a bit late with the review) The hotel is charmingly situated right next to Orford castle, in the centre of the picturesque village, and a short walk from the harbour. We booked a deluxe village and superior sea view rooms. Our room, the deluxe village room, was very spacious, beautifully furnished in light colours, and had a great view of the village square and church in one direction and the castle in the other. My sons room was equally good and, as the description said, had a great view of the river estuary out to sea. We had booked on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis, so we had a chance to sample the food in the restaurant. Our meals were excellent. A lovely dinner menu to choose from and an equally good selection at breakfast (full English for me!). All in all, we had a great short break at this delightful hotel and will definitely return. Great location, friendly service, good food. Highly recommended.

This was a fabulous find, where the hotel staff went above and beyond to help out my daughter and I after a long hot cycle ride to Orford. Food, storage for bikes, rooms, helpfulness and nearness to all this lovely village has to offer we’re all top class.

Fantastic long weekend stay. First time visit but won’t be the last. We were recommended this Hotel by friends and it didn’t disappoint. Our room was lovely, the food was incredible - the chef puts a lot of love in to the food and it’s not the usual same old menu many other places offer. The quality is amazing and so fresh. Breakfasts AND dinners. Sunday roast lived up to the hype. Puddings (which we don’t normally do) were delicious. Huge thanks must go to all the staff as they were all so welcoming. The manager John was a credit to the Hotel and his attention to detail is fantastic. Thanks for a great stay. We will be back!

A wonderful place to stay. We were on bikes doing the Wolf Way. There was a place to put our bikes securely and our room was wonderful. We had a lovely rest and had dinner later. The food and restaurant was also excellent. All the staff were friendly and efficient. A special thanks to Stella who was so lovely and interested in the guests. A fantastic breakfast set us on our way.

Visited last Sunday for lunch with friends. We booked for 2,00 but already 3 things were off the menu….. 2 of us had the roast. Very good beef and potatoes. Dover sole was swimming in butter and we hadn’t been told that potatoes weren’t included. My friend still thought fish was good. My husband had the haddock. Quite good. Iced cream deserts were excellent. Homemade. Hotel in a great spot opposite castle and a truly beautiful village. Restaurant not perfect but solid.

One of the most outstanding gems I have ever found. Situated next to the Norman keep in Orford, the ambience and location were outstanding. The Garden rooms were lovely and the dinner and breakfast was outstanding. I can highly recommend the kippers for breakfast with so much locally sourced produce. Staff were incredible.

We have being coming to the Crown and Castle for over 10 years because we love it! The rooms are very spacious and clean, and the food excellent. Always a varied choice of meals on the menu, including several tasty fish options which we thoroughly enjoy. The staff are absolutely brilliant too, nothing is too much trouble for them. They are both friendly and professional. We have already booked again for next summer, can't wait!
