Olde Tavern Motel and Inn - Cape Cod

Two friends and I went to the Olde Tavern Motel in Orleans, Massachusetts on Cape Cod for 2 nights. The rooms were very clean. The breakfast choices were good, including an automatic pancake maker, really cool. The manager, Peter, was very pleasant and helpful. The only complaints were that the beds were so high, one practically needed a step-stool to get in and out of them. Also the windows were painted shut, so I could not open them. I prefer fresh air to air conditioning, so this was something I did not like. Overall, though, it's a lovely motel with a pool in a convenient part of the Cape to get to other destinations.

We wanted to do an off-season week on Cape Cod in early October, and were surprised by the uniformly high prices for inns and airbnb's. Olde Tavern was only about half the cost of other possibilities in the general area we wanted to go. We didn't think the room photographs looked that great, but we planned on being outdoors most of the time and the reviews were very good considering the price, so we booked. VERY pleased we did. Rooms are quite large, well-equipped and better looking than photos. As stated in reviews, place was pristine clean. And the location was fantastic for getting quickly to the national seashore, Provincetown, Chatham, etc. And in particular for us, it was a few blocks off the marvelous 30-mile paved, dedicated bike trail from Yarmouth to Wellfleet, with its additional side trail to Chatham. LOVED getting out on our bikes in this area. And not to forget the breakfast: lots of good choices, even for my picky, gluten-free partner. Combined with the lost cost of the rooms, the included breakfasts really made our holiday-cost efficient, while being totally comfortable. Highly recommended.

Hidden Gem , recently renovated. Stayed 2 nights in August , reasonable rates for in season on the Cape. Great over size Continental Breakfast. Close to everything set back from the road. Several restaurants nearby convention everything.

Recently refurbished to a great standard, this place is a gem. Superb, very clean pool, great location and staff couldn't have been more helpful. Loads of choice for breakfast, which enjoyed in the sunshine. Highly recommend!

The perfect stay. Quiet room, comfortable mattress, great staff. The breakfast was excellent. The pool was clean and quiet. We had a great time. Close to restaurants and shopping. Forth of July parade went right by the motel. We will be back

This place was a nice Cape Cod surprise. The desk clerk was very friendly and helpful. Room was very comfortable and nicely appointed, back deck would have been great in good weather. Despite rainy weather, we enjoyed our stay.

Old-Style Motel renovated beautifully with all the modern conveniences! Concierge was very friendly and had many recommendations on places to eat and things to do. Continental Breakfast served in quaint lobby area. Rooms are beautiful and spacious, king-size comfortable bed with cozy blankets. Temperature control with large heating/AC units keeps room whatever temperature you prefer. Mini-Fridge was way roomier than expected and included a small freezer. Each room has a Mini-Keurig, so you can even bring your own preference of coffee or tea. Modern mirror in bathroom has makeup light and fog-free feature. Plenty of open closet space and long table for suitcase, as well as plenty of drawer space. Large-screen cable TV (not a "smart tv for casting just FYI for tech geeks). Back doors open to small deck area which opens to grassy lawn by the pool with umbrella outdoor tables. Very close (within walking/biking distance) to town center. Shaw's and Liquor Store 2 minute drive. All in all, a definite value and excellent place to stay!

Clean, convenient, updated rooms, comfortable bed, 9-foot deep pool (unusual), plentiful continental breakfast, nice desk attendant. We recommend. (watch out for water temperature in faucets it can be very hot)

A cute remodelled motel (excet for bathrooms). Pros...Clean, comfortable, close to Rock Harbor, Orleans center, beaches, etc. Nice breakfast choice of coffee, bagels, muffins, cereal, toast, juices. It is quiet even for being on 6A, comfortable beds...love the showerhead, it's like taking a steam bath! Cons...no microwave in rooms and bathrooms need a remodel...
