Fairfield Inn & Suites Tucson North/Oro Valley

Pool closed during summer. Hotel is average at best and needs to be refreshed. Gold elite and room on first floor with view looking at parked cars. Bonvoy upgrades and requests are not honored. Air conditioning not working correctly. Thermostat cannot be adjusted so either too hot or freezing cold. Stains on draperies and furniture. Would not stay here again

Excellent property and helpful staff! The breakfast is a very complete offering, which is so nice! Sophia in the dining area was so kind and curtious and went out of her way to ensure we had all we wanted and all was right in the kitchen. She was kind in greeting us both mornings she was working when we were there. Alfwanzo, front desk manager was professional in his addressing us and kind. He took the time to share some of his personal favorites in the area to hike and eat. We told him about the fireplace not working and he said he would take care of it. He was an excellent representative in customer service at this property. They have a really nice hot tub outside-one of the better ones I have seen at Fairfield properties!

Carpet in hallway and in the room, sofa in the room look not clean, the room has this unpleasant moldy smell. Bed linen feel cheap. We stay at Marriott hotels a lot, this one is not up to its standard

Large Fairfield property in a nice area. Very friendly staff. Good breakfast range, more choices than the usual Fairfield properties. Robert in the breakfast area was super friendly and nice and seemed passionate about his job. Loved the pool area but both days we couldn’t use the jacuzzi as 8 men were in it both afternoon/evening eating pizza and drinking for hours. Not staff’s fault but disappointing for us. Room decor and bathrooms a bit dated.

We were in the Oro Valley for a (military) funeral. My brother and I stayed at the Fairfield Inn / Oro Valley. it was, to say the least, a pleasant experience. The fellow at the desk, Alphonso, was profession, personable, and knew how to read the room. Since we were a rather loose lot, he told stories and jokes and made for a flawless check-in. The room was more than adequate for our requirements, although the walls seemed a bit thin. Breakfast was just right, and Robert was a great rep for Fairfield. (Robert and Alphonso both should get a raise!) All the employees we encountered were friendly and did a great job. Summary? For the money, this place was a great value, and if you go, let's hope Alphonso checks you in.

Disappointed in every way. We stayed 9 nights. We are Marriott titanium members. Barbecue out of order entire stay, meaning more nights in restaurants. Both ice machines out of order 2 days meaning cocktails in bars. These issues cost me a lot. Second floor ice machine out entire stay. The only reason the first floor ice maker was fixed is because I helped a very nice young lady working at the front desk get it unstuck after she told me she thought she knew what the problem was. She complained that nobody knew what was going on around there and nobody told her anything. Hot tub out of order last 3 days of our stay. Crazy, loud sounds in the walls woke us up every night. It was an outside wall, so not neighboring room and other guests told me that they had the same issue. The room needs updating. I asked to speak with manager about giving me a couple of the nights for free (total cost for 9 nights over $1200). GM was out of town until the next week but they would inform him of our request. Never heard a peep. Upon departure I requested he contact us to let us know if he would honor our request. Haven’t heard a peep. Just the food I spent eating out because the barbecue and ice machines weren’t working should warrant two of the nights free. To the good: the breakfast staff worked hard, were efficient and pleasant. Front desk staff were pleasant and generally tried their best despite so many non functioning areas of the hotel. Room has microwave and fridge and small seating area. They have coffee out in the morning for early birds. If the manager would like to contact me, we stayed May 1, for 9 nights and you have our email.

Lovely rooms, clean, quiet. Stayed 2 nights but were disappointed that there was no housekeeping done after the first night. Beds not made, bins not emptied. Maybe this is a new thing with American hotels? Housekeeping every second day? Breakfast was seriously disappointing. Disposable plates, bowls, cutlery; dry pastry goods, limited cereals, no fresh wholemeal bread. Terrible coffee.

It is difficult to write this review. On the surface, it should be horrible. We were there for two nights and did not have a functioning toilet. I brought it to the attention of the desk, was told they were aware of it but the maintenance person was "really busy". They did hand me a plunger, but we elected to use the public toilet down the hall for our stay. On the other hand, it is a nice building in a great location, with nicely appointed rooms and a great breakfast. When I brought my issues to the attention of senior management after we left, they complensated us by waiving the charge for one of the nights. I would have preferred to ay for both nights and have a flushing toilet. My sense is that it is in transition and will get better. One unlucky stay does not make a hotel terrible.

This is a great location for visitors to Norteat Tucson/Oro Valley; convenient to businesses and attractions in the area. That said, it's worth it to ask for a room on the backside as front faces very busy Oracle Road. Breakfast was good for a hotel at this price point and overall value for quality level is probably best in the area.
