Château d'Ortaffa

We spent three very peaceful nights in the beautiful Chateau d'Ortaffa. From start to finish Michelle and Alain could not have been more kind or helpful. They shared their top restaurant tips, showed us maps and had great local museum recommendations. The breakfast was delicious and the croissants award winning. We felt like special welcome guests in a family home where nothing was too much trouble. You are in for a treat if you stay here!

Alain and Michelle welcome you in their incredible home with warmth and charm that continues throughout your stay. Alain was so helpful in directing us to what we wanted to see and his restaurant recommendations were just perfect. As for the house - it’s difficult to describe how extraordinary it is, being a reflection of Michelle’s years as an antique dealer and their collective love of art in all its forms. We stayed in the Toscane suite for 3 nights - it’s huge and supremely comfortable. The breakfast is divine - local confitures and honey, home made yoghurt and divine coffee. The area has much to offer - we filled 3 days with visits to Collioure, Perpignan and Ceret and other delightful villages with a French/Catalan influence. We cannot recommend Chateau d’Ortaffa enough and feel privileged to have stayed there.

A lovely, well appointed and maintained medieval castle. The room was in a Picasso theme, very tastefull done and very spacious. The hosts were warm, welcoming, helpful and friendly. The breakfast, served on the terrace in superb surroundings, was excellent.

Wish we could have stayed longer Host was so kind and helpful. Location and chateau was amazing. The room was nicely decorated and furnished. It was very roomy with a private full bathroom.

We stayed two lovely days at Chateau d’Ortaffa. The place is an amazingly well-kept and tastefully decorated town house from the 12th century. We stayed in the spacious and airy room Baroque. It was so quiet and comfortable, we slept very well. The best were the wonderful owners, who were available and helpful, but honored our privacy. They also gave some excellent tips and we visited some extraordinary villages and monasteries. Breakfast from local products was served on the beautiful terrace/living room. Yet, the best was the atmosphere, we felt completely comfortable and rested. Hoping to visit again!

Authentic chateau experience in a quiet and beautiful village near collioure and perpignan. Located near to sea and mountains, we loved the relaxed friendly ambience of this area! Breakfast was set on the beautiful terrace overlooking the village, with delicious coffee, croissants, bread and cheese ( and home made apple sauce and apricot jam). Our room ‘Picasso’ was everything you would hope for with a relaxing, romantic couples getaway. Very much hoping to visit again!
