Masseria dei Monaci

The Masseria is beautifully designed, intimate and a quiet retreat from the bustle of Otranto centro. The rooms are modern and, impeccably clean and very comfortable. The grounds are beautiful. Stay for dinner. The food is delicious and beautifully prepared.

The staff and grounds are amazing. View of the ocean from the pool. The team there is so kind and helpful. Nice rooms w AC. Great cute bar at the pool. Love this place and will recommend it to everyone looking for a shorter visit or more days to relax.

5 km past Alife, but only 100 meters from Via Francigena. The rooms are a bit worn out, but the food in the evening is very tasty! We are alone and we are well served... Very sympathetic service. Breakfast the Italian way: sweets. We get - as a gift - a piece of bread, a sausage and dry biscuits. The bread in particular weighs heavily, but is tasty. We pay 54,50€ for a delicious dinner, and 80€ for a 2p-room with breakfast.

The place to go if you want complete relaxation and peace and quiet. After 6 nights at this hotel, we have come away well rested and well looked after. The rooms are stunning and cleanliness 2nd to none as others have reported. Whilst their rules appear strict, this family run place runs a tight ship and obviously wishes to keep it as pristine as it is so we didnt mind abiding to the 'regulations' that other have complained about. The breakfast offering is a little quirky. You won't find a hot option or a plain croissant, but you are offered sweet and savoury delights and once we embraced the Puglian way, we very much enjoyed our mornings. We didn't have a car, so we walked into town every night, which is a good 25-minute walk, but we did find taxis hard to come by, so having a car would have been a benifit I'm sure. Sitting around the pool we were looked after by the fantastic Francesco and team. Nothing was too much bother for him. We were only sad not to see him as we checked out. Thank you for being a great bar man! Overall, we'd recommend this place to anyone wanting a peaceful and uninterrupted get away from any hustle and bustle.

A dream come true stay from start to finish in this beautifully renovated Masseria a few minutes drive from Otranto. Impeccably clean room & grounds, with 2 stunning pools and a restaurant. Breakfast buffet offered a large table each of sweet & savoury, and served in the internal glassed dining room with sea view. The quality of food in the restaurant was also so good that we dined in 2 out of 3 evenings…the atmosphere elegant yet relaxed with beautifully dressed tables in soft green & blue linen. Germana runs a tight ship and overseas every from morning til night, ensuring that all guests needs are catered to. The rooms are spacious with our Classic Double on 2 levels. The beds & pillows our most comfortable yet with high quality white linen. There is outdoor seating & gazebo’s with floaty white curtains dotted around offering different areas of relaxation, many with glimpses of the sea. This was a very beautiful stay and we well recommend it to anyone in search of a relaxing stay in a truly stunning environment. Thank you to the team (family and non), we appreciate your attention to detail and hope to be back in the next year or so.

The whole aesthetic of the Masseria is very beautiful and calming. The property has been renovated to a very high standard by the family. We stayed in one of the suites which was gorgeous, the property is maintained meticulously, nothing is out of place! There are a number of rules that are communicated to guests when they arrive, which I understand, however we always as guests are respectful when staying in any accommodation. I must admit every morning to putting all my 'stuff' into the bottom of the wardrobe so it was all tidied away! The breakfast was amazing, such a wonderful selection of savoury and sweet breads, pastries and cakes. We would recommend this to anyone to stay, you do really need to have a car, which wasn't a problem for us as we were staying in a few different places in Puglia.
