Thabile Lodge

It is an absolute pleasure to review Thabile Lodge because our stay was nothing short of fabulous. The views, accommodation, the cuisine and the personal service were of the finest quality. The business functions around ‘you’, the guest!

We spent a lovely evening here after a long day’s motorcycle ride from Montagu. Henny made the stay so special with the attention and care to my dietary needs (gluten free). Our room was beautiful, the bed comfortable. The property is quiet and peaceful with no ambient light so our sleep was sound. I spent a half hour in the main lodge simply watching the birds on the feeder. Highly recommend staying here!

We stayed here for two nights on 9 October 2023 and regret we did not stay longer. What a lovely place! The owners want you to feel at home and they succeed so well. Very nice cottage style rooms with a wonderful view. The guest premises have all you need, from a swimming pool to inviting sitting areas with cosy but artistic decoration. They serve a yummy breakfast and the evening dinner around the woodstove is excellent, no need to go out to find a restaurant, Hennie is the best cook in town. And how could we forget, the dogs on the property are so nice! Len, the owner, gave us advice on a beautiful trip through the Swartberg mountain area. If we ever go back to Oudtshoorn, we will definitely stay again because this place was one of the highlights of our 3 week trip through South-Africa. Thanks, Len and Hennie!

Wow what a gem in the Klein Karoo. Set in beautiful grounds with majestic views, and then you are treated to amazing culinary treats. The quaint bar is so welcoming and fun. The staff are super friendly and interesting to interact with. A visit here is highly recommended. Thanks Len for been such a fantastic host.

The natural beauty of the location is out of this world. The dining room and lounge is eclectic and wondrously styled. The hosts and ambience, makes you feel right at home. The jewel of Route 62. The dinner was to die for and the breakfast great. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. The bed was firm with a choice of a hard or a soft pillow. Excellent Wifi and cellular phone and data coverage. If you are looking for a place to stay near Oudtshoorn, this is the place.
