The Clydesdale

Just returned from 2 nights here. Absolutely exceptional stay! Diane & Tommy are amazing hosts, so friendly, kind, helpful and funny. After only a brief time, we felt like part of the family. We can’t thank you enough. Fabulous comfy bed and delicious breakfasts! They truly go out of their way for you.

Really enjoyed our stay with Diane and Tommy. Our room was brilliant, very very clean and the breakfasts were also very good. Both Diane and Tommy are very knowledgeable about the local area and we parked the car up for the week and used the local buses for touring round Devon after Diane's advice. The bus services are first class. Regular and on time. Tommy seemed to know the location of all the Wetherspoon's in Devon. They were brilliant host's and the highlight of the day was always breakfast - get down early because the cabaret starts first thing. Would highly recommend and revisit. Come on England

What can I say? There are not enough superlatives I can use to describe our stay at the Clydesdale. On arrival, we were able park on site and my dad and I were greeted at the door by Diannes friendly face, lovely brew and homemade cake! We were helped to our rooms which were very comfortable indeed. We stayed for 5 nights, I had room 5 which was a single room with everything you could possibly need for your stay with plenty of storage. Even had a little fridge and a fan, rooms were spotless. Dad stayed in a double room 1, equally wonderful with a big bay window. The beds were very comfortable and we both slept like babies. Dianne and Tommy are by far the perfect hosts, very knowledgeable about the area and the breakfast choice and quality was impressive, (really enjoyed the fruit pots, Dianne even made one especially for me, having noticed I didn’t like banana. Dianne is a fabulous cook. The whole B & B was impeccably clean and very homely, the guest lounge was very cosy and perfect for relaxing after a long day. They both went over and above to make our stay enjoyable, nothing was too much trouble and was always on hand to help us with anything. Tommy ( Manuel as we like to call him)was equally accommodating, we especially enjoyed the costume changes and magic tricks at breakfast, we had lots of giggles which made for a very memorial stay. Location was great, quiet and less than a 10 minute walk to the shops and beach front, with a very lovely park at the end of the road. Local transport links are great, cheap, run regularly and very clean for those not wanting to drive anywhere it’s ideal to get about. Its no wonder why the Clydesdale has been nominated for “friendliest B & B” more than once, you’d go a long way to find better, quality and customer service was exemplary! I can’t recommend this place enough, a real home from home. This was our first stay after being let down by another local B & B. It must have been fate as we now wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else when visiting Paignton. By a country mile this is the best B & B I have stayed in and at a very reasonable rate. In our opinion 10/10 just doesn’t do it justice. We feel like we’ve made some new friends in Dianne and Tommy and will definitely be back for more of the same before the season closes. Well done you pair. A visit to the Clydesdale VERY highly recommended!! PS. I’m going to miss Boo Boo, he was the icing on the cake! hope he’s not got too fat from all the treats I gave him.
