Torbay Court Hotel

We had a really lovely stay at the Torbay Court Hotel and would happily return. The location is ideal and just a short stroll to the beach and close to all the local shops and amenities. It made a great base for getting out and about around Paignton and the surrounding area. From the moment we arrived, Steve and the rest of the team made us feel genuinely welcome. They were friendly, attentive, and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. There was even a DJ on the first evening, which created a great atmosphere and got the trip off to a fun start. Breakfast was enjoyable, with a decent variety of options. The staff were always cheerful and helpful, which really added to the overall experience. A special mention has to go to Steve, he was fantastic throughout our stay, always approachable and happy to help with anything. Overall, it was a warm and relaxing break. If we were to be picky, a slightly broader breakfast selection would have been the cherry on top — but everything else was spot on. We’d definitely recommend it to others.

Stayed for one night at the Torbay Court Hotel. A good location 5-10 minutes walk from railway station and 5 minutes from the seafront. Clean and tidy room ideal for just one night stay at a good price. I used this hotel several times before and is good value out of high season.

Booked a double room with shower only and not a shower over the bath, which we were told was on the 2nd floor and there was a lift. I called on the day of arrival to confirm the booking and it was. The received a call to advise they would move us to a ground floor room which had a wet room (and bizarrely a jacuzzi bath). We found the room to be very comfortable and suited our purposes perfectly. Breakfast was included which was nice. Steve the manager was very pleasant and happy to help us if needed. All in all a very pleasant experience. We will stay again. 5 stars!!

Good points: 1: Efficient housekeeping. 2: Great location. 3: Generally friendly staff. Bad points: 1: The shower in room 102 is a risk. It starts off scalding, remains scalding for a few minutes, then you get pleasantly hot for a while, then it turns scalding again. I mentioned after my first morning, requesting a room change. On my return I was told it had been fixed. It hadn't, I had the same problem on all eleven mornings. I didn't bother mentioning it again. Someone will get scalded though. 2: I arrived late and after checking in arranged for a friend to visit me for a while. The night porter point-blank refused to admit my friend who was only visiting for a short while anyway, not staying overnight. Most other hotels this is not a problem. They mentioned fire safety but if they take a note of the additional guest visiting, that's not a problem. I understand it's the hotel's policy but it felt rather antiquated and like I was staying at my parents' house, not a hotel. The attention I was given throughout my stay leaned towards the intrusive with comments like 'a late start this morning then' as I walked out past reception. 3: A more minor point but there is no hand soap provided, only the shower gel dispenser in the shower. So to wash your hands with soap, you have to twist, lean and stretch into the shower to get soap for your hands. I wouldn't book again.

Had a great time with my sister..clean hotel and room .. very friendly staff.helpfull with whats going on in the area and bus details.right near the beach and shops .lovely hot breakfast 😋..Will be taking mom nxt year. And my sister again..if she can put up with me again 🤣

so far so good! Breakfast is good but not much range also the staff are so nice here friendly and welcoming, housekeeping everyday and clean and facility’s are good. Also not too pricey the rooms are good for what you pay for, might come back here not 100% sure yet since our stay isn’t over but so far it’s been great. Also has var and refreshments in the suite part
