Ananda Beach Hotel

We had the most amazing time at Ananda Beach Hotel! The rooms were clean and spacious. The location of the hotel is great, right on the beach front and lots of good restaurants nearby. Reception staff were very helpful and friendly and the hotel resturant is great value

A pure gem on the beach in Paje!!! Perfect location with the most delicious meals in Hello Capitano restaurant. Staff is always so attentive and welcoming, service is excellent, pricing is also good. The kite surfing school is right next to it. Very professional team and great shop with equipment. The hotel has an excellent selection of rooms and the design is stunning. Very spacious and comfortable, exactly as described online. Soft linen on the beds and rooms get cleaned twice a day, including spraying for bugs. An experience to remember. I had no mosquito bite for our two weeks stay, although they love me. Wi fi is of high speed and great for a work trip too. I cannot thank enough Sina from management team who has always been so helpful, kind and welcoming, making sure our stay was very pleasant. Amon from the reception area had answered numbers of questions regarding trips along the island and provided support and guidance when needed. The entire team are extremely professional, supportive, helpful and friendly. Will definitely visit again!!! Ohhh and forgot to mention how delicious their coffee is… included in your breakfast ☕️

On arrival the hotel looks lovely… once settled, the bedsheets are rough like sandpaper, the bed as hard as rock & the noise from outside is unbearable at night. Especially when the outdoor cleaners come and rake your doormat for 5 minutes straight at 5:30am EVERY MORNING, and then when the cleaner comes with the hose and hoses down all your shoes you’ve left on the door step, leaving everything wet through outside your door, again at silly o clock in the morning. And then don’t forget the mites / bugs INSIDE the bathroom door scratching and eating its way out of the door ALL night which is loud. Let’s not leave out the restaurant, offering simple dishes etc wraps, burgers & chips - very boring & bland food. And for breakfast you’re allowed to order 1 egg and 1 coffee each alongside the buffet, but no staff will to approach anyone to order eggs. It’s advertising as a lovely luxury hotel, when in reality it’s nothing like that. Would not recommended. However it’s located great on the beach.

The staff was so nice, and helpfull. We felt very welcome. The surroundings was beautiful, and so was the hotel. If I’m going back to Zanzibar Ananda hotel would be the hotel I would go to. I would say that the AC in the rooms we stayed in wasn’t working at all times. But the staff was nice to help with it.

Ananda is such a gem, the perfect place for my stay in Zanzibar. The staff were delightful, my room was gorgeous and the restaurant was the envy of every other person in our group. Thanks to Mariam in particular for being so welcoming. Would fully recommend to anyone. It’s a dry hotel, which I found refreshing on the trip (alcohol served in most other nearby restaurants), and the small huts and beach vibes were immaculate. Particularly loved being visited by Colobus monkeys while reading by the pool, and I will miss the cats so much!!

Cozy, well maintained hotel at the beach. Nice pool with sun beds. There is a terrace with sun beds also at the beach. Breakfast is a good buffet with coffee, eggs, fresh fruit, pancakes, yogurt. We had a late flight, and were able to check out late.
