Drifters Zanzibar

Want a late night cocktail or beverage, this is the place! The bar is open all night, and with a small fire pit next to the beach, it creates an excellent spot to watch the sunrise. The bartenders are friendly and welcoming and the washrooms are clean.

Spent a week here and could have stayed longer. Amazing view, pool right on the beach. The food is great and the bar is super fun, super social so a great place to meet other travellers. Location is great, can walk everywhere and right on the most beautiful beach. Ca t wait to come back.

I have never experienced such an inhospitable accommodation. The staff will insult you, raise their voices at you and if you try to complain to the manager- not disclose his contact and call you names. The facilities are wrecked, there is no kitchen or fridge. My lovely beach holiday ruined.

Horrible is not enough to describe it. I don’t usually review places if I don’t like them but this place doesn’t deserve the rating it has and if you have a minute read this before booking this hotel. We arrived late in the night by prior communication because of car issues. Once arrived it was very difficult to find the entrance of the hotel and we spent twenty minutes around the area looking for the place. They asked us to wait for the check in in a dark not illuminated area with our bags next to huge trash bins standing for ten minutes with a horrible smell. We had booked a room with the sea-view and terrace and instead they gave us another room with no sea-view (which has a lower price) As you can see in the pictures the room was unbelievably dirty and with no privacy conditions. The entrance door has a huge gap as well as the windows and anybody (the room is at ground floor) can see through outside to inside also because the curtains don’t cover properly all the space. The bedsheets were dirty and the shower is in disgusting conditions. At that late time of the night we could not find another place so we stayed the night. In the early morning we got awaken by loud speaking voices of the workers of the property just next to our window. Not only they gave us the wrong and cheaper room they also made us pay the full price of the room we booked but didn’t stay in!!!

We went to drifters for dinner and really enjoyed it. Very nice staff and really fair prices for the good food you can get there, whilst being right by the beach at a beautiful location. Can really recommend you to check it out! There is also a constant nice vibe going on.

Drifters is the perfect hang out place, lunch place and the ULTIMATE place to be on any given night (especially the ones you wanna have fun) The staff is super observant and fun to be around! Drifters has space for everyone and is just the coolest place to meet new people. I basically stayed my entire stay at drifters and I know it’s the first place I would recommend to anyone going to Zanzibar! Do yourself a favour and drop by - you won’t regret it!!!!!
