My wife, two teenaged daughters and I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Cheetahgarh Resort and Spa Jawai in December 2024. First, the food. Everything we ate was delicious. Chef Bhanwar Rathore and Chef Krishna Pal are culinary artists who take enormous care in creating delicious and nutritional dishes. They were also incredibly accommodating of my vegan diet making custom vegan versions of virtually anything I was interested in. I can say without hesitation that the food we enjoyed at Cheetahgarh Resort was the freshest tasting and most delicious food we enjoyed during our entire 2+ week visit to India including the many meals we had at five-star hotels and fine dining restaurants in Mumbai and Delhi. Next, the service was excellent. Hukam Singh at the front desk made the check-in process an ease and was quick to respond to all of our requests. Dushyant "Mr. Singh" Singh made incredible cocktails for my wife and I and creative mocktails for the kids and had a great personality and sense of humor. Pardeep Kaur, the manager answered all of the questions I bombarded her with on WhatsApp over the several weeks leading up to our arrival and was completely responsive and helpful during our stay. Banjara-ji the porter greeted us with a warm smile whenever we passed him and was extremely helpful, diligent and responsive. The accommodations were tastefully decorated and very comfortable and clean. We had the two chalets closest to the clubhouse with a private pool between them. The pool, though somewhat small, was heated and very relaxing to be in. Perhaps due to the proximity to the clubhouse or just because the staff is so attentive, anytime we ordered anything to the room (whether towels, ice, bottled water, etc.) it was delivered so fast that it felt like the doorbell rang with the delivery before we even hung up the phone. In addition to comfortable rooms, the premises of the property were well maintained and beautiful to explore. There is a serene lake at the end of the property where we could spot crocodiles sunbathing on rocks. My wife and daughters had treatments at the spa which they enjoyed. The safari experience was memorable. We were taken out in an open-air jeep with a driver and a naturalist who were both very experienced and knowledgeable. We saw a leopard, an Indian eagle owl, several other interesting birds, monkeys and a mongoose! Perhaps more interesting than the wildlife sightings was the landscape and the adventure of off-road driving through shallow rivers, up rocky hills and through abandoned limestone quarries. And then there was the vast, serene and majestic views of the Jawai Dam! Our two nights/three days' visit to Cheetahgarh Resort were a highlight of our trip to India. It's an easy drive from Udaipur and well worth a visit. We enjoyed Cheetahgarh so much that we had to bring a piece of it home with us and purchased a pillow case with the resort's leopard logo embroidered on it to rem
