Marabou Hotel

If you don’t want a headache, do not stay at this hotel! Let’s start with the room, which is old and in desperate need of renovation!!! During our 7-night stay, there was no water for 4 days, several times throughout the day, and this is completely unacceptable! During the first two days, we had to shower with hot water because if you turned the tap toward the cold side, there was no water at all. The mattress caused us back pain, and during the entire 7-night stay, I didn’t sleep comfortably even once. The room had a refrigerator so small that it was difficult to even fit a bottle of water inside, let alone any fruit. The towels were old and yellow from years of use. The clothes-drying rack on the balcony was completely rusty, so much so that it was impossible to hang our swimsuits on it without them getting stained. And just think — I paid €142 PER NIGHT!!! The price-to-quality ratio is absolutely shameful! Now let’s move on to the sun loungers, which were included in the price. Yes, they were technically free, but the service was a complete nightmare. They had the most expensive prices in the area for coffee and water, and you had to wait 20–30 minutes for your order. The daytime waiters were extremely slow, and one day we asked for water only to be told that they had actually run out of water at the beach bar!!! The next day, they told us that we were not allowed to bring anything from outside, even though their own service was far from satisfactory. So, paying this much money just to get these kinds of services simply because the hotel is right by the sea is a mistake I will never make again. And worst of all, we had no internet in the room for two days because it had broken down, and there was apparently no technician available to fix it. So what exactly are we talking about here? Where is the standard? The beach waiters would take payment for the day’s consumption and then forget to give you your change!!!! I actually pointed this out to the waiter in question, and he STILL forgot to give me my money back! I had to go to the manager! So what exactly does this hotel offer? For me, it’s a BIG NO. I have been spending my holidays in Pefkochori for 4 years, and this was the only negative experience I have ever had. I will never return to this hotel. The only reason I chose a different hotel this year was because the hotel I usually stay at was fully booked. Otherwise, Marabou in Pefkochori desperately needs to be completely re-managed from the ground up! I hope my experience is useful to anyone considering staying here.

Amazing hotel for its category 2 stars)! 3 meters from the beach, amazing sea, very cool beach bar, a few steps from cafes, bars, restaurants, all by the sea. Recently renovated with pastel colours. Amazing views of the infinite blue. Amazingly friendly and hospitable staff. I would definitely recommend it.

I think i was the first after the winter break, because the room smelled a bit stuffy and the fridge wasnt on and had to call someone to get the shower to work. But the room was clean and location is super!

My little experience in outings and gatherings says that you have a good time and get a good impression when the office staff are smiling and polite! Everyone at the hotel was in a good mood from reception to room service. The hotel also has umbrellas for the sun. If you also want a restaurant, you will find it convenient to stay here because there are many in the area.
