The Ritz-Carlton, Aruba

Visited in December last year for a couples trip and we enjoyed our time. The hotel was not exactly what we expected for it being a Ritz Carlton but the staff was lovely and the rooms were clean. It was great to have access to a the beach and not have to fight for a chair. I will say people are up insanely early to reserve a chair (7am) but at least you don't need to pay for a chair like at other hotels in aruba. The hotel bar and staff were amazing and some of the best wait staff in the place. Would definitely come back even though it wasn't exactly the luxury Ritz experience we were expecting.

We had an absolutely fantastic visit to the Ritz Carlton Aruba to celebrate our honeymoon! Every staff member was incredibly friendly, attentive, and accommodating to ensure we had a fabulous stay. Highlights include beautiful sunset views on the beach, absolutely delicious and intricate drinks from Jose at the pop-up bar (his pina coladas are worth the trip alone), and the superb hospitality offered by the team in the Club Level Lounge. We can't wait to come back!!!

Stayed at the Ritz-Carlton Aruba for three nights. I've stayed at luxury properties all over the world and unfortunately my experience was OK but not great. GOOD  The hotel is very clean, though not modernized with things like USB ports. Breakfast was also very good. Lots of options for the buffet and everything was fresh. The beach was kept in pristine condition,  as were the pools. The spa is expensive but my massage was fabulous, and service comes with access to a whirlpool and sauna. Staff around the property were also friendly and helpful for the most part. NEEDS WORK Lunch was unsatisfactory. I ordered the mahi mahi tacos and they were extremely dry and flavorless. Suggest you eat off the property. Also there are not enough beach attendants for food and drink orders...which begin rather late at 11am. By the time the lone attendant came by at 11:45 we were extremely thirsty. They would be wise to add more staff. TERRIBLE  Housekeeping was sporadic at best. They didn't service my room all day Sunday. On Monday I called to request immediate service and they didn't come during the 3.5hours I was out of the room. Tuesday I called at 7am to request 8:30am service and came back at 11:30am and the room hadn't been touched. I also couldn't order in-room dining because no one picked up the phone...even called the front desk to request and they transferred me to a line that didn't connect. It frankly was absurd. When I checked out I detailed this to the the front desk staffer and I received a half hearted apology and then he asked how I preferred to receive my bill!  The least he could have done was call a manager to address my concerns. In short, would def visit Aruba again but not staying at the Ritz-Carlton. 

We’ve been coming to Aruba for ~6 years now and split our time between the Ritz & the Marriott Stellaris next door. While the Ritz does carry a steep price tag, it really is the best. They have amazing elite recognition always getting us into a suite in high season, the property is stunning & well maintained, they have the best stretch of the beach/ocean with the clearest crystal green water, and they have a wide variety of on-site restaurants, too. A/C works very well even in the Aruba heat & the staff are always zooming around on their segways at the beach quick to bring food & drinks. Thanks for always welcoming us back, Ritz Aruba!!

I’ll be honest, some of the mixed reviews on here made me nervous to book this hotel. I just spent 5 days there and I can honestly tell you, you can ignore any negative reviews. The Ritz was terrific! I was incredibly impressed by the staff. Everyone, and I mean everyone was attentive, helpful, and kind. My girlfriend and I spent most of our time at the relaxation (adult) pool. In the hot sun, they gave out ice pops, watermelon slices, and ice cold spray bottles. They remembered our names and favorite drinks right away. We checked in early and our room was ready right away AND we got offered a free upgrade to an ocean view. There was a business conference half way through the week, but you never noticed it. The team did a great job separating it from other guests. Even people who weren’t helping us wished us a good morning with a smile. It sounds simple, I know. But it went a long way. I know management reads these, can’t thank you enough for your tremendous staff, they all deserve raises! Also want to shoutout the staff at Casa Nonna! I will say that my only gripe with the hotel was actually the other guests, which i know the staff has no control over. Some of the guests were rude or incredibly selfish. Theres specifically a pool meant for children, but parents would bring their loud and whiny kids to the area. Other adults would be incredibly loud in a quiet area. One guy was doing the laps in the pool even when other people wanted to go in. One lady had her book stolen. People would leave their trash all over the place, which attracted birds and iguanas. Again, not the staff’s fault. I know as soon as someone on the staff saw something they fixed the issue right away. And I realize this could (αnd probably would) be at most places. But for a team that works so hard in the hot sun, it would be nice if guests had basic manners.

Couldn’t ask for a better place to stay! Every single employee had a smile on their face and went out of their way to help. The grounds are beautiful and there is nothing to complain about! The pools are warmer than most, but most are a little on the cold side, your wife/girlfriend will love the temperature. The beach chairs are not the cheap plastic with no cushion, these are sink into the cushion type. We ate at BLT steakhouse and I never thought that I would find a better steak than Ruth Chris but I did. I wanted to go back the next night. The employees truly make this place with their cheerful attitude and attention to detail

Honestly - there is no way this can be considered a 5 star hotel. 5 star hotels excel in service and luxury which this hotel clearly lacks. For example, there is plenty of pool staff but no one is walking around removing used towels or helping to make up guests chairs. The water stations are an embarrassment with cone shaped cups that are impossible to drink from. Housekeeping is inconsistent at best. Overall I think this is a 4 star resort and nothing more.

Wonderful stay for a mini moon! The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating to all your needs. Our friends recommended visiting Jose at the VW bus for the BEST tropical cocktails, and they were not wrong. We are already planning our return trip.

Just finished an incredible stay at the Ritz Carlton for our honeymoon. The grounds are immaculate and the service is world-class. Drinks from Jose at the VW pop up bar are an absolute “can’t miss.” My wife and I are already planning our return trip.
