Zafiro Palace Palmanova

Mallorca has always been a special place for us, and when it comes to resorts, we can’t help but compare everything else to Zafiro Hotels—especially their incredible 5-star Zafiro Palace resorts. After several visits, I can honestly say they’ve set the bar high. The Service From the moment you arrive, you're greeted with a warm welcome and a complimentary drink. The staff are genuinely lovely, from the animation team to the bar staff and waiters, everyone goes out of their way to make sure you’re having the best time. I loved the table service for evening drinks and poolside refreshments, no waiting in line. The managers were always waiting at the buffet entrance to greet us too at mealtimes which I thought was a really nice touch. The Rooms Being an all suite hotel its great for families. The junior suites come with king beds, a separate living area, and either a balcony or sun terrace so you have plenty of space. But if you want to treat yourself, go for a swim-up suite or, our personal favorite, the Penthouse Suite with its private rooftop terrace and hot tub, pure bliss! The Food One of the biggest reasons we keep coming back....the food! The buffet has loads of variety and is high quality, but the real highlight is the à la carte dining: Mediterranean, Italian, Japanese, and Grill restaurants, all included (one visit each with half-board or all-inclusive). Every meal feels like a night out at a top-notch restaurant. Lunchtime by the pool is just as good. La Veranda Pool Bar serves freshly made dishes, and I still dream about their Salmon Poke Bowl! For the Kids Zafiro somehow manages to be the perfect mix of luxury for adults and fun for kids. The pools are amazing, there’s everything from swim-up suite pools to a baby splash pool, a bouncy bubble, and even pirate ship slides. Our kids loved the kids’ club and made so many friends, they never wanted to leave the hotel to venture out! If you’re looking for the perfect family-friendly resort that doesn’t compromise on luxury, I highly recommend Zafiro Palace. We can't wait to go back!

The only thing for me was. Not much Vegan grub on offer but if you ask the chef will make you something But ask on arrival. The room fridge is very expensive Supermarket 2min away to restock up if you want. Gardens and pools 10/10 Indoor Sauna/steam/ pool 10/10 Immaculate clean throughout Staff excellent Children play areas 10/10 Taxis are cheaper then Bus if 4 passengers Please leave a NICE TIP Otherwise the Package was excellent for a family and young 10min to baby. I recently stayed at this hotel with my family, and we had an amazing experience. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, always going above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. The activities for children were fantastic, keeping my little one entertained throughout our stay. The atmosphere was family-friendly, and the hotel itself was clean and well-maintained. From the pool to the kids’ club, everything was thoughtfully designed with families in mind. We would definitely return and highly recommend this hotel for anyone traveling with children. Hotel is a 5 minute walk to local amenities and the beach.

We usually stay at the Zafiro Hotel in Palmanova, but this year we decided to try something new and booked the Zafiro Palace. It was also our first time holidaying in April, and we were pleasantly surprised by the whole experience. Although both hotels fall under the same brand, they feel quite different. Zafiro Palace is noticeably more modern in design.. clean, stylish, and thoughtfully laid out. The reception and bar area is beautiful, and the welcome drink on arrival was a lovely touch. The restaurants are well furnished and visually appealing. Our room was spacious with a large balcony, and the mini bar (restocked daily and included in the all-inclusive package) was a nice extra, even though we barely touched it. Breakfast was perfect, and lunch at La Veranda offered plenty of choice. Dinner at the buffet could have been hotter, but it was decent and did the job. We upgraded to all-inclusive when we arrived, and we’re glad we did, especially for the drinks. The cocktail menu was excellent, and unlike other resorts, drinks were served in elegant glassware rather than plastic branded cups. It made the experience feel more premium, and we actually enjoyed the drinks rather than just drinking to “get our money’s worth.” The female bartender made a particularly good Old Fashioned! We also dined at the Japanese and Italian à la carte restaurants, which were both lovely. The female staff were especially attentive, and welcome drinks in the restaurants added a nice touch. The decor in each was so unique that it felt like we’d left the resort for the evening. One thing worth noting: inflatable lilos and rubber rings weren’t allowed in the pools, a first for us, and something we only learned when the lifeguard told us. Not a big deal, but it would’ve been helpful to know in advance. Because of this, our kids preferred the Dome Pool, which, unlike in the other local Zafiro hotel, is located separately, a short walk from the main pool. This meant we usually sat and watched the children as there isn’t a ‘big pool’ in that area and children must be supervised at all times. I imagine in the summer months it would be impossible to get a sun lounger facing the kids dome. It’s definitely a family-friendly resort, and I honestly wouldn’t recommend it to couples looking for a quiet, peaceful getaway. There were lots of babies and children, often loud, which was fine for us as a young family, and we totally empathise with parents of unsettled kids. But if I were travelling without children, I can imagine finding it a bit overwhelming. The only real downside was the gym experience. Each time we went (5 out of 7 days), there were young kids, some as young as 8 or 9 on treadmills, playing with weights, and running around. When my husband raised this with the spa reception, the staff explained that because the indoor pool was temporarily closed, children were allowed in the gym if accompanied by an adult. Bouncy castle, trampolines, water features etc) Entertainment at night for adults. Would have no problem recommending this beautiful hotel.

I'll begin by stating that I am a food allergy mum, as our toddler has a peanut allergy. For fellow allergy parents, I hope to provide a balanced and honest account of our experience at this hotel. Unfortunately, I did not feel safe staying at this hotel—certainly no safer than I would have felt at a standard, non "allergy-friendly" hotel. This is deeply disappointing, especially given Zafiro's claim in their FAQs: "All our hotels are prepared for guests who suffer from allergies or intolerances or who are vegans." Considering we paid over £4,000 for this holiday, the experience was far below expectations. Here are the key reasons why, and I'll back up these points with photos where I can: • Inaccurate labelling: The spaghetti bolognese was labelled as containing every major allergen, including peanuts (see photo). This should have been a safe option for my toddler, but because of the confusing labelling, we couldn't take the risk. I raised the issue with the chef, who assured me that there were no peanuts in the bolognese (albeit making me feel a bit like a burden for questioning). While the staff did provide a brief tour of the food options that evening, this was the only effort made to help us manage our toddler's allergy for the entire trip. Families dealing with food allergies rely on consistent and accurate labelling to feel safe. Sadly, such labelling errors made it impossible for us to fully trust the food. Consequently, my toddler was forced to endure a restricted diet for the full 10-day stay, and there wasn't a single meal where I didn't feel on edge. • Many allergens served without labels: On a daily basis, there were all kinds of nuts in the dining areas without any labels (see photo), which is a huge oversight for families managing allergies. While I'm not going to make the mistake of feeding my toddler peanuts from an unlabelled jar, the hotel needs to be extremely cautious in considering children who may attend the buffet alone and unknowingly make such a dangerous mistake. • Unlabelled dishes: Many other meals were lacking any labelling at all (see photo), which added to the uncertainty. • Peanuts on tables: In the evenings, complimentary peanuts and nuts were placed on tables, even though these areas were largely aimed at families with children. This practice is unacceptable for a hotel that claims to be allergy-friendly as peanuts also inadvertently found their way onto the floor (see photo) where the kids are running around. For those who might think I'm simply criticising the hotel, please understand that food allergies can be life-threatening. Zafiro should not be promoting itself as allergy-friendly when it fails to provide the necessary safety measures. It's as simple as that. Other General Issues: • Cockroaches: We encountered cockroaches multiple times—in the pool, dead on the sidewalk, and even scurrying across the floor during our à la carte meal, which did a great job of putting me completely off my food.
