Tanglwood Resort

We stayed in Room 107, very outdated, smelled musty( had to go to local store and get a Renuzit) shower head plastic, holes in screens to sliding door, could not keep the sliding glass doors open as the mosquitos were coming in. The furniture is very uncomfortable to sit in, old and outdated. The worst was the bed. The bed was lumpy, springs sticking into our backs, looked like it was 20 years old. Did not line up to the head board. The rec room was nice, but the musty smell was overwhelming. The restaurant/lounge on site, is only open on days of shows/events. Did not use outdoor pool. Indoor pool and facilities were beautiful, but unfortunately were at another facility which as about a 20 min. drive-one way- up a mountain. Only plus was the view of the lake accross the street.

Not an impressive resort. Amenities are very outdated that are on site, there is an off site indoor pool that you travel 20 minutes to at a different resort to use and it is absolutely amazing, very clean, steam rooms, showers, locker room, kids play area as well as a kiddie pool for toddlers and younger children and a bigger pool for adults. The room i had was a 1 bedroom (not sure if they offer anything bigger) but upon arrival there was a really bad musty smell in the room. Lake flies were terrible and would be all in the shower and on the bathroom floor mat despite no windows or doors being open. Spiders were in the shower. Room is very outdated with tears in the living room chair as well as stains and the couch in the living room had stains all over the bottom cushions. The bed was very very uncomfortable to sleep on and my husband and I felt like we hadn't slept the entire vacation. There is a washer and dryer and they are very very old. They are coin operated but the "room" they are in looks like a super tiny walk in size basement almost, you walk in and the washer and dryer are right there and there's no place to sit or even hardly move to wait for your clothing. Only one person can be in there at a time as you're basically standing in the doorway to use the washer and dryer. The room is very very run down, it took the dryer over an hour to get my little load of laundry dry. I loved the view of the lake as it was a gorgeous location, unfortunately the resort has not been maintained or renovated in a good 20 years give or take.

We stayed here for our Thanksgiving vacation. I wouldn't say it was a bad place but it wasn't a great place. The rooms were clean (minor dust on some ledges but nothing terrible). We stayed in a 2 bedroom but did not realize there was a spiral staircase to get to the second room. The bad part was the second room on the ground floor had a smaller bed. Both rooms had a tub shower. The step in wasn't a huge step but still high enough if you have any mobility issues you need to be careful. The staff was friendly and pleasant. But the outside definitely needed some work. The location seems more geared to the lake and activities there. I probably wouldn't go back mainly because of the location and the room layout. It is not a bad place and certainly it provided everything we needed for the week.

I really enjoyed my stay at Tanglewood in Hawley, PA. The condo was beautiful, featuring a comfortable bedroom, a spacious bathroom, and a fully equipped kitchen. It also had a small patio with a stunning view of the lake. The town of Hawley was absolutely charming, with plenty of wonderful restaurants and festive Christmas decorations that added to the holiday spirit.

The mixed reviews I read beforehand had me concerned before booking and checking into this property, but I was pleasantly surprised by my unit. It was quite spacious, well-cleaned, and I had everything I needed. Being across the street from Lake Wallenpaupack was a nice perk, allowing for conveniently watching the sunset on the water and going for an easy stroll on the 3-mile round-trip path. I would happily stay here again on my next visit to the Poconos.

Beautiful area. We had a quiet and peaceful stay. The people at places we visited were all very friendly.
