Camping Sandaya Cypsela Resort

Do you or your child spend a lot of time on your phone? We do! Do NOT book this campsite!! Your own mobile provider has no signal in the forest, so you’re forced to buy Wi-Fi. And it’s ridiculously expensive!! I don’t consider that good service, especially given the price you already pay for the campsite. On top of that, the Wi-Fi is charged per device, so you need to buy it 4 times. In 2025, you’d expect this to be properly arranged. For this reason only you better book La Ballena Allegre.

Booked less than 12 hours ago, woke up with suspected covid 19 and they say we can't cancel and still come (doesn't show much care for their guests, more interested in the money!)

This is a really lovely resort to go to with a young family. It's self contained with a grocery store, restaurant, bar and even a gym on site. The water park is fantastic and there are exercise classes in the mornings. In the evening, there's entertainment for children. The chalets are lovely and quite spacious, nestled among the trees. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and would certainly recommend it.

This was our 14th (and final) visit to Cypsela. We originally brought our children there for many years and then continued to visit as a couple. Firstly, we stayed (as usual) in a 2 bed Colors mobile home. I think it's fair to say that the years (we reckon they're there since c.2015) have not been kind to these mobiles. Calling them 'Premium' at this stage is quite a stretch. They have become shabby and dated both inside and out. The shower heads in both bathrooms were loose and swung to face in whatever direction they liked - if you could actually get any hot water that is (which I never did). All the beds had dust underneath them on arrival and a musty smell inside the mobile suggested it had not been open in several months - probably since 2023. Half the inventory was missing. Only one outdoor bulb worked. There was no ice cube tray and the interior furniture was chipped, ripped and shabby. The public toilet blocks are long gone past needing a refurb such is their condition. Some cubicle doors don't have locks on them, the shelves are missing and the doors have holes in them. At least these showers do work though! For us, the Bowling Bar was always a favourite, especially the wooden furniture and decking outside which added a laid back feeling to the place. To say we were disappointed to see the decking had been replaced by concrete and the furniture replaced by heaps of cheap, nasty bistro furniture is an understatement. The new roof shading was probably a good idea but it just felt that it's all about dollars and bums on seats and nothing whatsoever about paying customers actually enjoying the atmosphere. Despite reading differing opinions in other reviews we found the staff to be friendly as usual, in particular the restaurant staff and the manager, and can have no complaints on that score. Unfortunately, for us Cypsela (now called 'Cypsela Resort' instaned of 'Camping Cypsela') has completely lost its soul. Which is a pity because once, in the very recent past, it had been so quaint. Perhaps that's what people want nowadays but it ain't for us anymore

A fantastic place for R&R and all the family plenty to do in peak season and off-season. I’ve been many times since 1993-ish. Will keep going back for as long as we can. The surrounding area has lots for everyone including beaches, shops, history and beautiful historic villages. Pals and Begur are two of our favourite places . Thank you everybody at the resort

We had been visiting this resort since the 70s when it was Spanish owned , it WAS great...but now French owned its become more expensive than a hotel and the word "camping" only loosely fits its description.This is a mini Disneyland and run the same way . Theft is on the rise here , we witnessed a few people having cars broken into and belongings taken from the rooms . It use to be very clean here but now cleaning is at the back of the que. Sadly we will never return and we shall keep the fond memories of how this "site" once was.
