Shores of Panama Resort

I will start with positive things first, the check end was very easy and the guy that helped with reservation was so nice. The view from the room was beautiful but you had to hold your nose to get to the balcony to breathe. The room stunk so bad, we booked at the last minute so I didn’t get to see the room until we got there. It was very old and had not been updated, it did have a small kitchenette but the cabinets had contact paper on them that was peeling off. appliances were chipped and rusted. It had a couch at the end of the bed that had an animal urine smell, I think that is the reason the room stunk so bad. The bed had a very thin lumpy mattress. I’m sure this condo is owned by a company and not independently, it had no care. The headboard was a cloth but it was stained. The elevator issue was horrible ! I wish there was something better I could say. But unfortunately not. Ps the room number was 1605.

We booked this on AirBNB on the spur of the moment right after two hurricanes blew threw Tampa. My wife and I both had time off as a result, and thought, “hey, let’s go to Panama City”. I think a lot of people who review this resort don’t realize that the AirBNB host and the resort are two different entities. Other reviews show rooms that are run-down, not clean, whatever. But ours was really nice. Had nice kitchen, good seating inside and on the deck, nice bedding and towels were average. Hosted by Theresa/Raquel Room 506. Had reserved parking on the 5th floor near the hallway to the condo. Our host was very responsive to messages. No complaints and will definitely book again. As for other reviews claiming that the parking is bad, pool is busy, elevators busy, etc. We probably got lucky on our stay. The resort was maybe less than half full due to the hurricanes, and we had none of these troubles on our stay. Others may have had different experiences. My only complaint were the weird rules at the resort. Rules posted everywhere with exclamation points threatening “immediate eviction” for violating said rules. Security staff were..meh. A couple of them seemed friendly but most seemed burned out and just plain rude. Parking garage - We got into a bit of an argument with the little d-weed that sits in the chair next to the entry gate (not the security gate). It is really hard to get your arm twisted around to the RFID reader to open the gate, and while I’m trying to get the gate to open the little A-wipe starts asking me where my parking pass is. I’m trying to tell him that it is so stupidly large, I put it in the console when I drive for safety reasons. He starts spewing his BS rules at me telling me he will have my car towed if the pass isn’t properly displayed. Then tells me he will open the gate for me when he sees the pass, and not before. Damn. How many things this guy want me to do at once? After that, we just started going in and out of the security gate and the guard would wave us through when I showed my armband and parking pass. Easier. Problem solved.

The resort was beautiful. The staff was friendly to us. The room was horrible. We stayed in a studio room #2206. The couch was pealing pleather. The bed had sand in it. So much dust everywhere. No blow drier, ironing board or anywhere to hang your clothes. It has a nice balcony and washer and dryer. You have to bring your own laundry soap. We didn't use the kitchen, there was 1 fork, 2 spoons and 3 knives and a few cockroaches. Looks like it was furnished from a thrift store. The stove and dishwasher are so old, I was afraid to even use them. The refrigerator was noises at random times that lasted for about a half hour. The floors were so dirty. Eveytime we walked on it our feet were black. There was mold on the shower head and around the tub. The parking garage was crazy. When checking in they tell you what floor your space is on. They really should give you a map of where your space is. Random numbers on all floors.

It shouldn’t have carpet anyway, but because of the smell we were restricted to the one room by the front door because it was the only place we could get away from the foul odor. We could not take our shoes off, and we definitely couldn’t eat in there with that smell. It shouldn’t be rented out period! I feel like a sucker. Doesn’t matter how that room comes, you can’t back out of it or get a refund. You just have to cut your loss. So we checked out early. This is not a house keeping issue. The dryer did not work, one of the bathrooms was missing caulk In the shower. Only 2 chairs outside to sit at and was supposed to accommodate 6 people??. This room needs a complete update! This room will not meet your standards of what you would expect a resort to be. BEWARE OF 227!!!

Condo 1910 , this condo and resort was an awful experience . Upon arrival at 11 pm , condo was not clean , sheets dirty and floors was just gross. Call emergency number and was told I could leave and receive a full refund . I ask for someone to clean the condo due to it being midnight at this point and we had driven 10 hours to get here and was told no . I requested to be moved to a clean condo and was refused as well . I did however get clean bedding dropped at the door at 130 am . When office opened at 9am , I was calling and they told me no refund and I could not be moved from this room , however they would clean it after noon . So I suggest you take your business else where , condo is not just a little dirty it’s nasty . So much dirty and out dated , even the curtains and molded and nasty . I will not be back , and this makes me sad for I have used this resort many times in the past but it has gotten really ran down and appears no one cares about the condos or those renting them any longer . So just avoid this resort at all cost . The floor was so dirty your feet stuck to the floor . The couch was covered in stains and just yuck . I cannot express just how disappointing this trip was . Never again !

I don’t want to be a negative person and, no, I don’t believe the world revolves around me, however, when my family and I pay (A LOT) of money for vacation, I do have standards. These were not met at Shores of Panama Resort. The staff was rude from check-in, and by day 2 of my stay, I felt unsafe at this location. Please don’t leave children alone at this place. I literally watched a woman, who had on a resort wrist band, talk to families with kids on the beach and secretly taking pictures of the kids, don’t be fooled and always stay aware. Always wear a resort wrist band or you will be banned from the property unless you pay $100 to get new ones, the bands are thin plastic that break very easily. My family and I had to replace them at least 4 times. Young children don’t have to wear wrist bands, which is very peculiar considering they are the ones who could easily be lost or taken from the property. Parking was a nightmare, the elevators were a nightmare (takes at least 10 minutes to catch an elevator at any time), and there is no spa like they claim. Also, be prepared to set up any tents before 5 a.m. or the beach front will be covered in resort chairs and you will have to walk pretty far in order to find a decent spot on the beach, you cannot set up tents in front of those chairs. The beaches are also disgusting and trashed. I believe many tourists have been taken advantage of so this is a warning to think twice before booking. Don’t be like the many others who are deceived and just want to relax… this ain’t it. Look for a place that’s actually accredited with the BBB and a place that has good management practices.

We had a great vacation at the Shores of Panama Beach Resort. The parking garage is tight and the elevators are very busy during peak times. The pool is fantastic. The beach is nice with white sand and cool water. Really loved that there was a coffee house, a tiki hut, a tiki bar and pizza available on site. I was able to get my latte fix every day. The food was great at the tiki hut and surprisingly the pizza was delicious. It’s right next door to Pineapple Willy’s which is nice. We enjoyed our trip and will be going back next year. Unit 308

Place was run down, works were rude, elevators were always broke down, and the bracelets only worked half the time. Trash shoots Were never empty and always over flowing. Parking garage needs to be a bit bigger you can only fit one car on the turns, made it difficult to get in and out. The only good thing about this place was the location and pool

The staff is horrible and rude. The parking garage is terrible. The pool lounge chairs ordeal is a night mare. One guy (we called him the towel thief) walked around taking peoples belonging who were not at their chair. If you walk away and are gone for five minutes your belongings will be taken. Maybe get more lounge chair to accommodate the number of guests you have. Our room was nice and the beach was beautiful. We will not be back. Get different people to run this place!
