Lotus Grand Akm

Perfect location for morning train to Shimla just a quick five minute walk to station . Amazing value comfy beds great decor and friendly staff. We went to Shelley’s for dinner .. the best meal we have had so far in India. The Manager of hotel said it was the best restaurant around.

We loved the Lotus Grand Akm after a long day on the train it was an absolute pleasure to only walk a few hundred metres to this little oasis in Kalka. The staff are super efficient and had us checked in and in our (5 room in no time (the rooms are at a great price). The rooms are large and well appointed - due to the rail being in close proximity there is the odd noise however, this has to be expected. Big shout out to the staff as they ensured we were all set for our Shimla experience and are able to answer any of our questions and ensured our stay was memorable.

The hotel is in close proximity to kalka railway station and that is the plus point. Rooms are average and ideal for one night stays. The housekeeping could have been much better, the bathroom towel had holes and stains. We were 3 people and were provided only one towel and the condition of the towel have highlighted above. Staff are courteous and were welcoming. I should say that is another plus point. We were told the restaurant is not operational so had to order food from outside and thats fine.
