Pousada Literária de Paraty

Beautiful gardens and relaxed vibe. A very peaceful stay. The hotel is located in the heart of the old town. Despite the many restaurants, shops and bars, the hotel is quiet and and restful. Meals can be taken in the gardens or the restaurant.

What an experience! Everything amazing, from the staff, to the room, the pillows, food and the spa is unreal! They offer everything you can think about during the breakfast and the drinks are also delicious. They also offer a walking tour and we learned a lot about Paraty’s history. We had some rain during our stay and the reading room was my favourite place. You find any kind of book here! I mega reccomend Pousada Literária !

This is a lovely oasis in a central spot in the town. Excellent service, charming staff, spacious room and a cute little family of marmosets that emerged each evening, running along the rooves and trees! We very much enjoyed our stay there!.

The hotel experienced a major power outage during our stay. No light in the rooms, no warm water. Just simple excuses and bla bla from the front desk. No efficient way in handling the problem. Breakfast was quite basic and not what we had expected. Staff were very friendly. Nice little pool. Rooms are very basic but ok. Nothing special.

Pousada Literaria is a small jewel in the midst of old Paraty. Perfectly located to discover the town with its shops and restaurants the Pousada has great accommodations, great service and food. The staff could not be more friendly and helps in satisfying every need. Our suite was very spacious and beautiful if a bit dark in natural light. We had four great days discovering the town, trekking in Fazenda Bananal and going around the island in a small speedboat. We will be back for sure!

Without any doubt, this is the best Pousada de Paraty. It is classy, trendy and spotless. It is an oasis within the town. The grounds are beautiful. It was great having breakfast watching colorful beautiful birds. The front desk was great. The service is what you would expect from a 5 star luxury hotel. The restaurant was good especially in a town that gets very crowded and it can be difficult to get reservations.

Excellent hotel. The concierge Lydia was exceptional. Perfect and personalized service. The room was modern and done with good taste. Breakfast very satisfactory. Location also a plus. We hope to return one day!

My husband & I stayed here for 4 days/3nights back during the last days of February. We went after Carnival for some much needed rest & relaxation and that is exactly what we got. This is by far is one of the most magical resorts we have ever stayed in and we travel extensively. We stayed in room #1 which is the largest, most luxurious room. It is probably about 1500sqft with an expansive living & dining room first floor with a half bath and stairs up to the large mezzanine bedroom suite with giant bathroom & rain shower. If we ever were able to buy this room, we would in a heartbeat! It was absolute PERFECTION! Large, comfy sofa, side chairs, wall of bookshelves, with, of course, books everywhere, large dining table for 6ppl, high ceilings, large king bed, upstairs fireplace, top notch finishes and amenities. The resort itself was exceptional! The front desk staff was professional, personable, and spoke impeccable English. There was a lovely restaurant by the garden, off the large inviting pool which served delicious breakfasts and an afternoon juice beverages. The pool was so relaxing that I would nap on the comfy loungers. There is also a very large library, steam room, and gym. You felt so far away from everything in this resort, yet once you step outside the doors you are right off the center of the hustle & bustle. Also upon arrival, we were given a free private tour of Paraty which was brilliant to learn about such a charming place. At night the gates/doors are locked with a guard, so you felt super safe even though it was not really needed for this quiet village - it was just another perk to making your stay special. I HIGHLY recommend this resort for an EXCEPTIONAL stay!

The hotel is beautiful and convenient located in the old town. It is beautiful and the food delicious, for breakfast, and dining. The staff is friendly and efficient. The room and bathroom are well decorated and clean, but a bit in a small size.
