Vacancéole - le Domaine des Grands Lacs

I've made a reservation at an exorbitant price and regret it. It was the worst experience I've had. As we were arriving at the destination we drove into a smoke cloud that we realised was from the fire closeby. It was unsafe to stay. I still went to the reception and talked with the staff, who told me they were not able to cancel the reservation or change dates there and provided me with a phone number, which was available only two days later and was not helpful. I then got an after service email address, and they have said "The order to evacuate the residence and the sites nearby was never given" and "I cannot offer any compensation". There was (there is still at this point) a fire very close, the whole are was full of smoke to the point that you do not see the sun and it was unbearable to breathe. Their own staff were scared. I was not given any option and they just kept the complete amount (very expensive reservation) for a service they never fulfilled while not caring for their clients or staff safety. The whole difficult communication brings the clients to exhaustion and the goal seems to be making money and not providing anything. Worst experience ever. I can only advice to stay away, just read the reviews from this place on all booking platforms. I also regret to have made the reservation on their site directly and now not being able to write the review on booking.

Excellent séjour pour la période de la Toussaint: propreté, accueil, calme. Tout était parfait, nous reviendrons sans hésiter.
