Hotel Saint-Louis en l'Isle - Notre-Dame

This place had the best location right on the island. Easy to walk to EVERYTHING including metro. Super friendly, helpful and attentive staff. Beautiful rooms and bathrooms and breakfast. Their transportation service to and from CDG was EXCELLENT.

In early-January we had the pleasure of staying at the Hôtel Saint-Louis en l’Isle in Paris. In addition to the excellent quiet location of this small hotel, the charming breakfast “cave” was a great way to start the day in Paris. And the staff was superb – of particular note, Layal, who could not have been more professional, charming and helpful (Denis and Mariska were also helpful). Will definitely return!

I stayed at Hotel Saint Louis en l’Isle for four nights with my wife and would rate it 3 stars. The location is fantastic—centrally located and charming, making it easy to explore Paris. The hotel is very quiet, which was great for getting a good night’s sleep. The staff were nice and friendly, and the breakfast every morning was a real treat. However, we had an unfortunate experience on our last night. We brought back a pastry from our afternoon walking tour of Montmartre, which was wrapped and left on the desk. In the middle of the night, we were woken up by a mouse trying to get into the wrapper. This was quite jarring and something I’ve never experienced in all my years of traveling. We also had treats boxed up on the desk to take back home, which made the situation even more concerning. If you stay here, make sure to keep any food in the fridge, although it isn’t very large. Due to this incident, we probably won’t stay here again, which is a shame because the rest of our stay was great.

Absolutely loved our stay. The hotel is a lovely French boutique hotel with very friendly, helpful reception staff….Dennis, Layal & Ludwig all deserve high praise ( & all speak English). Downstairs in the rock room, the breakfast attendant, Marisca is so sweet and helpful, even though she speaks no english. This hotel, situated on a quiet island, has easy access by several bridges and is a 5 minute walk to Notre Dame. Be aware that they have a winding staircase that is accessed for all rooms except the first floor. Highly recommend this hotel

This hotel has small but pleasant rooms in a great location, but they have gone out of their way to ruin our stay with service that is well below a 1. Yesterday we checked in at 9:30 pm. I had booked two rooms with 2 beds in each room. The rooms had one bed only. I complained and was told that they would separate the beds today. When we got back to the hotel at 3:30pm, the beds had not been separated and again reception apologized and said there was nothing he could do and it wasn’t his fault, but housekeeping. For EUR 600 per night for the two rooms, I expect at least decent service. Unfortunately I will never stay at this hotel again. It is a 3 star hotel, but the service is simply non-existent. Pity.

Booked two rooms, prepaid, at the St Louis hotel a few days before the Olympics. While the hotel itself seemed nice they should not have had it available for booking at that time. The streets were closed off with armed guards and you needed a QR code scanned by the guards to get anywhere near the hotel. We booked same day so it is not possible the hotel did not know this difficulty. At midnight we stood on the street with our kids and pleaded with the guards to let us near the hotel area as we had no where else to sleep. The guards called the hotel to see if they could come get us with a QR code to let us in and the hotel refused to do so, even though it was 100 meters away. That night I sent an email to the manager and HR manager with no response. Later my husband spoke to the manager and asked for a refund. He offered to "split it with us" and when we refused said he had "housekeepers to pay" and "take it up with our bank". While this was a stressful time for Parisians and businesses in the city (you can read it in the news), they say ones true nature is shown in times of stress. An English family walked by us and as I explained the situation and said "this wouldn't happen in the US", she said "it shouldn't happen anywhere". Its true. I would advise all Americans and others accustomed to good customer service to stay elsewhere. There was no humanity with these people.
