This is a great place in terms of location (very near the northeast entrance to Yellowstone) and price. The rooms are very basic/somewhat rustic (but the internet worked which was great), but ours was clean and warm. If the review ended there, I would probably give them 4 stars. However, the service was NON-EXISTENT. We arrived just after 8:00 pm. The office was closed (and I had received NO COMMUNICATION about what time the office would be closed), but they had pinned a note to the door along with ONE key (the one key is important later). The next morning, we went next door to The Log Cabin Cafe for breakfast, locking our door as we left. When we returned, imagine how we felt when the key only opened the dead bolt and didn't open the thumb lock on the doorknob. Since we only received one key, we had (incorrectly) thought it would open both locks - WRONG! We went to the office - still closed at 8:30 am. No owner or management anywhere to be found. When we dialed the hotel number (10+ times), the phone immediately rang to voice mail, and the mailbox was full. There were no employees anywhere. The people in the room next door told us that they had received TWO keys, not just one - one for the deadbolt, one for the knob. So it is 30 degrees outside, we are locked out, and there is no one associated with the hotel to answer our calls for help. Finally, after ONE HOUR of trying to contact someone, the housekeeper came by and was able to open our door. Imagine if there had been a serious issue with the room - plumbing problem, electrical problem, etc. There was NO MANAGEMENT on site and NO RESPONSE to phone calls. If you aren't going to be on site, then at least have a reliable way for your customers to contact site management!!! Due to the complete lack of service, there is really no way that I would ever recommend this place to anyone, despite the positives of the room and location.
