An incredible place to stay in Bhutan if you’re seeking a luxurious and authentic experience. The hotel offers exceptional food and top-notch spa treatments, perfect for relaxation. The team is outstanding, and you can truly feel their dedication to making your stay unforgettable.

This is one of my favorite hotels ever!!! We were greeted by staff and the hotel manager Juliana upon arrival. We had time for a spa treatment, relaxing drinks with a view and an incredible dinner that evening. After breakfast the next morning, we were provided with a packed lunch for ourselves, our guide and our driver for our planned excursion. Then a repeat of spa, drinks and dinner. The food is amazing and the overall service was just stellar. My only disappointment was with myself for not booking a longer stay. Bhutan is not an easy place to get to - so if it's on your bucket list, make sure this is the only place you stay when you are there!

The worst customer service arrogant and so unresponsive unprofessional. Was referring a whole bunch of clients called them 10 times. No call back or response. And such arrogant staff. The booking process is so bad/ they seem so uninterested. And do not respect or respond to clients queries.

Bhutan Spirit Sanctuary was our third hotel in Bhutan (after Como Punakha and Six Senses Thimphu) and our favourite experience overall. The welcoming journey was unique and provided a real 'sense of place.' The rooms are spacious and have all that you need, including a stunning view towards a local monastery from your balcony or terrace. Throughout, service was warm and friendly, and we truly felt to be guests, rather than customers of the hotel. Food was good, with the Bhutanese feasts being excellent and carefully tailored to our difficult dietary requirements. We also enjoyed the local Bhutanese wine, which is included in the room tariff. The cuisine tends towards simple vs pretentious, but was overall the best (for us, and it is a matter of taste) of the three hotels we stayed in. The arrival consultation with the Bhutanese doctor was very interesting and he was happy to discuss differences vs Western medicine (as European doctors). The daily included treatment is a great concept and the hotel is flexible to let you postpone your day-of-arrival treatment to another day to have 2 if you wish. The spa concept is more towards health than wellness - there is little ceremony (e.g., no welcome tea or foot bath) and perhaps the experience could overall be enhanced by starting or finishing in the tea lounge, rather than the spa reception. I am sure this would be available on request, but we didn't think of it until afterwards. An aspect that is perhaps often overlooked is how hotels treat the tour guides and drivers - our guide had never been to the hotel but was delighted to be offered tea straight away and our packed lunches were provided big enough for 4 (to include the driver and guide). We will definitely return to the Spirit Sanctuary - it is close to the airport so suitable for a shorter trip to Bhutan, or to use as a stopover en route to the central or Eastern areas. 100% recommended, and great value overall.

We are waiting for our flight at the Paro airport, after a wonderful 8-night stay at the Bhutan Spirit Sanctuary. This was our first visit to Bhutan. We're glad we chose the Sanctuary for our entire stay, because we took breaks from touring and enjoyed everything the Sanctuary had to offer. With the beautiful setting and traditional Bhutanese details throughout the resort, we were able to enjoy an authentic experience without having to go out to town. The entire team, from dining to spa, to guest experiences, to housekeeping, took great care of us. Chef Warren, and his culinary team took our particular vegetarian dietary requirements very seriously, and made beautiful, delicious, and nutritious meals, in and outside the Sanctuary. We didn't have to remind anyone of our special dietary restrictions. The attention to detail was amazing, and greatly appreciated. This is the ideal place, if you have done tours in Bhutan before, and just want to relax and allow the team to recalibrate your mind, body, and spirit. Special thanks go to the wellness team, who designed and delivered an extensive menu of traditional Bhutanese treatments. We highly recommend you try everything. We usually would list many of the employee names here, but this resort simply has too many kind team members for us to list individually. They all had big genuine smiles on their faces, and treated us with the best Bhutanese hospitality. The all-inclusive feature of the Sanctuary is also something we loved. The gourmet meals, the packed meals/snacks during our tour days, the daily wellness treatment, the laundry, and other Bhutanese cultural activities. The new GM, Juliane, is very hands-on. She checks in on guests multiple times a day, and personally made sure that we were getting a great experience. We also appreciated the fact the hotel tried its best accommodating our early check-in and late checkout without us having to ask. We highly recommend the Sanctuary for first-time and repeat Bhutan visitors. Our 8 nights flew by, and our advice for you is to plan a stay here for as long as possible.
