Holy River Hotel

We stayed here for three nights in Superior Rooms. Firstly, the pro's- The rooms are clean and the hotel is located near market place and the room charges are reasonable; comparatively. The staff are well behaved. The breakfast spread is small but well prepared. The food is good. The Laxman Jhoola ( closed at present) is about 750 metres from the hotel but the road is crowded. The cons- We could not find what is the difference between the superior room and the other rooms. The rooms have no view. The bathroom was small and no glass partition in the bathing area which led to water spraying all over the walking area in the bathroom. Despite our much earlier message as senior citizens , we were not allotted adjacent rooms so we were shifted to lower floor for the same and both rooms allotted to us were different, although we had booked Superior rooms. It seems their best rooms are reserved for overseas visitors who find the hotel cheap and good and give publicity to the hotel. . The food prices were exorbitant from Rishikesh standards. The single Tawa Roti( chapati) cost Rs.80 and one paratha cost Rs.120? The Spa is one *** show and he fell sick during our stay so could not avail his services when we required. The Gym is very small and accessible only with one floor stairs. Overall, it was not a very happy stay.

The hotel was generally nice, we appreciated the early check-in they gave us as well as having a room on a high floor with a (partial) view of the river. The bathroom was a bit of a problem, though when taking a shower there was literally no way to avoid serious flooding everywhere. The room itself was a bit small and could get a bit stuffy (despite winter timing) and it wasn't possible to open the window to air it out, unfortunately. Breakfast buffet was just 'ok', there were no eggs on offer at all, for example (not even hard boiled ones). Location of the hotel is good, right on the main drag in town, so gives good access to restaurants, shopping and travel services.

This is my 3rd time coming to Holy River, and as usual, it did not disappoint. You could not find a better hotel in tapovan. The staff are all exceptional and the food is top quality. The standard of the rooms here always exceeds our guests' expectations. I have already recooked to return with another group in March 2025. Not to single out anyone as the staff were all equally fabulous, managers, restaurant, spa but big shout out to Himanshee in particular. And it's not because he left me a rose lol I swear 🤣

My recent stay at the hotel managed by Suraj was exceptional. Thanks to his thoughtful guidance, we were able to experience so much in a short period – from local attractions to hidden gems. This clearly shows Suraj’s strong connection with guests and his understanding of what can make a stay truly memorable. He and his team especially Himanshu were always available to assist, and every interaction was warm and welcoming. The rooms were impeccably maintained, and any requests we had were quickly addressed. A very good hotel at a very good price point. The rooms have all the amenities one would require however there is room for improvement in certain areas of decor. The beds are comfy and the AC chills as it should. The rain shower was a god send after a long 8 hr drive from New Delhi… we also tried the restaurant at the hotel and the food was good…The rather quirky shower room set up felt a bit out of character for the hotel ( the bedroom is separated by a 6ftx4ft clear glass screen ) which although screened is not completely separate from the bedroom area

Stayed for 4 nights with a 1.5year old toddler. It was a very pleasant stay overall. Sharing the highlight’s: Highs: - Neat, clean, spacious, comfortable & modern rooms. Ample amenities available. Whatever you need is usually there or they happily & quickly provide. - Delicious food promptly served, they happily customised non spicy food for our toddler, who also enjoyed the variety in breakfast. -They have a kids play area and a pool which was good for our toddler to spend time - Well mannered and helpful staff, they assisted me throughout whenever I needed help managing my baby alone. - Location: few minutes walk to most cafes and the river. Easily approachable and ample parking space Lows: - The pool was not well maintained. We stayed from Wednesday to Sunday and except on weekends, the water was not refilled or cleaned. On weekend, due to the rush, the pool water was almost opaque and visibly contaminated. We avoided the pool altogether during our long stay because of lack of cleanliness else it would have been the best experience with our little one. - the kids play area was covered in dust on the first day of our stay, despite requesting twice to get it cleaned up, no efforts were made. Since spending the whole day in the hotel room was impossible with a kid, I had to let my toddler play for some time in the mess. Deeply disappointed with the experience with pool and play area, which were essentially the main reasons why we had chosen this particular hotel. Would have appreciated if they paid better heed to our requests especially since we stayed for so long. Overall a good stay and will recommend it highly for families or couples for a long or short stay. It would have been a wholesome experience for us had the pool and kids play area been functional and well kept.
