Overall, a very disappointing stay for premium cost!! We have stayed here 10plus times because it is the closest hotel to our family who live in the area, but we would gladly stay elsewhere. The quality does not match the price - they definitely take advantage of being the only full-service hotel in the area. And we have watched this hotel age poorly over the past several years. The walls are marked, the AC is very noisy (poor sleep), the sheets have holes/splits, and the carpet is lumpy and not clean, etc. Despite our earned, very high status with Marriott, we were assigned a low floor even though we requested a high floor pre-arrival, and the property was not full. When we asked for a higher floor, preferably concierge level (which we qualified and paid for), we were told that we were “staying too many days to be assigned to the Concierge floor.” What? We paid a premium price for that level! The staff person who checked us in acted as if it was a bother to assist us - NO information offered, NO greeting. We had to ask questions just to get basic info about the restaurant and lounge. Rudest person that we have encountered working the front desk at a Marriott property. The room was not properly cleaned, and we had to ask over and over and over to get sufficient towels. Despite repeated requests each morning to leave extra towels each day, this never happened. We had to call down each evening to get towels, We had ONE bath towel in the room when we arrived back to the hotel one evening - unbelievable for two people!! Bath towels were tossed on the back of the commode after cleaning the room (not hung); garbage was not consistently emptied; and linens were not changed unless requested. Dirty dishes sat outside rooms for days in the hallways. And there were two bags of take-out trash that sat in the hallway for 4 days and were still there when we left - nothing like smelling garbage in the hallway for days, especially old food containers. The indoor pool area was not clean, and the pool was really cold! Minimal pool towels were provided; none were available when we went to the pool one day. During our stay, a decision was made to close the Concierge Lounge for 5 days due to “low occupancy.” No warning and no refund offered. The ONLY positive aspect of this property are the very nice staff in the Concie Lounge and Sophia’s restaurant. They are exceptional, and most are long-term employees who remember their frequent guests. Thank you for the one bright spot in this dreary setting!! It is difficult to believe this is a regular Marriott hotel - they have been talking about a renovation forever…maybe it will happen. But until then, they obviously survive because there are no other options for gatherings, events, and meetings in the area. It is sad! We have spent thousands of dollars at this property and NEVER received a single response to any evaluation, comment, or request for a response. What does that
